Right now, three things mattered: the piano, the isolated woods and Mozart, Piano Concerto #19 in F Major KV 459.
Lelouch had always favored Mozart - light, happy and poignant Mozart, making up for his miserable short life with sweet, immortal music. And accordingly, Lelouch played the keys with ease, the allegro growing and expanding - wave after wave of regeneration, of powerful life, restlessly building up to full forte, faster and faster as it wrapped reality with a protective blanket of beauty, precision and the kind of contagious delight that turns smiles into sunlight.
Of course, the music only existed in Lelouch’s memory, heart and fingers. All around him, there was nothing but silence.
