1.91 Mun Prompt - Common Misconceptions

What is the one biggest misconception that you think people have about your muse?

If I'm understanding the question in the correct way... the biggest misconception people have about Anna is that she hates men. I'm saying this in the way "canon" characters see her (ie. Lieutenant VanBuren, DA Jack McCoy, other members of the NYPD, etc).

She will come off as very harsh and even condescending to men she works with and even witnesses or suspects and she is definitely known for her cracks about men being unreliable, chauvinist pigs - and the way she freely admits to having flipped a man on his back in the middle of the bullpen for grabbing her ass and requesting a new partner after one put the moves on her don't help her cause much.

Anna doesn't hate men, so much as she hates the chauvinist attitudes and certain unfavorable actions they do. She grew up with a verbally-abusive father who was never around growing up and made her mother's life miserable, and her father never saw her when she was hospitalized following her rape. She deeply resents him for that. She also was in a four-year relationship with a man who fought with her constantly and made her choose between him and her job, and was subsequently cheated on in the first relationship following that one. Anna has a very poor track record with partners and - depending on the verse - she's had anywhere between four and six partners in her four years as a detective.

In her experience, men always end up hurting her, cheating on her, or abandoning her and so she's built up a thick set of walls to keep them from hurting her - which comes with sarcastic comments and a very crass attitude.

She doesn't hate men, she just hates what they've done to her.
