Lj has been retarded lately. I have more problems with it now than ever before, mainly it is the lj program that I have issue with. Thus explaining why I tend to give up on trying to update as often as I used to. It gets a little old after a while when you spend like 30 minutes typing a huge entry and then losing the whole damn thing when you go to post it.

My Space...heh....I freaking HATE My Space. It is an annoying piece of shit. And generally, it is the users (which is like 90% of the world's population at this point) that annoy the hell out of me.
It is one giant circle jerk.
Nothing gets my goat quite like trying to look at some other person's page and have it take like 30 minutes to download because of all of the dumb crap and music that they have.
But then again, I am just easily annoyed:/

There is a small part of me that really hates B&N, at least the one here in St. Blahgustine. Their "new age" section is super tiny while the obnoxious (and ever growing!) xtian section is huge. I know that isn't necessarily the store's fault as they go by demographics and if I want more of a selection then: go to a bigger city. However, it just bothers me that almost *any* book I want, I always have to special order.
But you are so right, bookstores should be safe havens. But I know that my local B&N (which is really the only bookstore we have) is hardly a "safe haven". On the contrary. Every Friday and Saturday, it overflows with the dumb ass Flagler College kids who take up the entire cafe, talking as loudly and as obnoxiously as possible. All the while looking over Cliff Notes no doubt...I am surprised they even know how to read.
Let me just say that you practically need a shoehorn to get into the magazine section on those nights;)
But I put up with it because I am a book addict, hardcore. I can think of few things that make me feel as happy as knowing that I have a new book waiting for me...

Oh and my knee feels like ass. It feels worse than it did before my surgery. I am supposed to still be using crutches but I refuse. I think the Workers Comp doctor fucked something up, I just have this feeling.
And Pants is doing much, much better. I am still having to give him meds every single day but we only have a few days left of that. He is so good about it, I have never known a cat that just sits there and lets you shoot pill after pill down their throat. He doesn't run when he sees me get his pills or when I get the pill shooter, he just waits. It is like he knows and wants to get better. I love my boy:)

Anyhow, sorry to have typed you into oblivion. I got lazy and answered two replies in one. I just woke up and I am being a slug until my coffee and meds take effect.
Hope all is well with you!!

Going to attempt waking up now:/

I know what you mean about the selection at B&N...I can never get anything I want off the shelf there. It's just the combination of the smell of coffee and the smell of new books that feeds my addiction, but almost all my favorite books these days are bought on-line or borrowed from friends. I could spend hours on the A.K. Press website (http://www.akpress.org)or plowing through Amazon used books for specific titles..but then you have to wait for them to ship it to you and that sucks when you really have a craving for a new book NOW! It's too bad you can't buy your books elsewhere and then just go into B&N to read them...of course the other good thing about ordering on-line is that you don't run into crazed stalkers! :-)

Sorry to hear about your knee. I've never made a Workmen's Comp claim, but I am guessing they don't let you go to a different doctor for your follow-up visits. Health care in this country just sucks.

It's not just St. Augustine. The Barnes over here *never* has a damn thing I want. I've taken to ordering online... which sucks because I find joy in "discovering" I book I want at a bookstore. The Border's in Long Beach is a little better so I go there. Only thing is that one attracts the college kids. =\
