(no subject)
Holy crap it's been awhile since I've posted. H-haha. I blame tumblr.
Um. So I got a new job! After months of unemployment! \o/
It's at a bakery/cafe place, and I've only been there for about a month, so it's still shiny and new to me. My managers and co-workers are -- to varying degrees -- simultaneously asshole-ish and nice, although most of the time the asshole-ishness is just a side-effect of frustration and rushes. Then there are the very very few who are unrepentant Nice Guy douchebros. Thankfully I don't register as potential date material to them so I haven't had to deal with their Nice Guy sides, just their douchebro sides.
I have a few people that I'm pretty comfortable working side-by-side with already: Swears!manager, Must Remember to Cut Her Some Slack!manager, Unfazed!manager, REALLY?!co-worker, Was Fired and Re-Hired Within Two Weeks!c-worker, Tall and Quiet!co-worker, Very Thorough Unofficial Trainer-coworker, Primarily Cashier Who I Haven't Had the Chance to Work with Often!co-worker, Newer Then Me By a Week!co-worker, Bakery!lady, and Bakery!dude (whose name I have yet to learn, but he makes some pretty hilarious faces.)
I'm still trying to learn the ropes, even a month in because holy crap there is a shitton to learn. I think they're aiming to train me in everything other than baking and catering so that I can help cover whatever section is short-staffed when necessary, but because we're short-staffed a lot of the time, I end up doing the duties I was first trained in because they don't have anyone covering those duties if I'm training for other things.
First time working in food service, but I like it so far. Here's hoping I continue liking it because I've gone and sent in an application for culinary school (no offers yet though), orz.
...what have I watched recently? Oh, I've seen The Bourne Legacy (my friends are giving me these hilarious side-eyes because I've only ever seen the third Bourne movie, but I only watched this one because tumblr people said that Jeremy Renner's and Rachel Weisz's characters were adorable together) and Looper, both of which I enjoyed for different reasons (I'm probably gonna need a re-watch for both before I can make a post on them though.) I've also gotten hooked on Arrested Development and finally gotten to watch series 2 of Luther.
Iiiiiiiii am also considering replaying Kingdom Hearts for nostalgic reasons. Also because I've never actually finished a video game and now's a good time as any? :D?
