Wherein I make a list of my embarrassing love for AUs
Is "I felt like it" a good enough reason to list the X-Men: First Class AU bunnies that I want to try writing but probably never will? Yes? Okay. Also I was futzing around with the entry because I wanted to add a PS but somehow ended up deleting 75% of the entry, I don't even know how and then I had to rewrite it because I fail at HTML sob.
IN CONCLUSION: I LOVE AUs.
- WING FIC AU! Erik is Smitey McSmiterson an avenging angel with little-to-no faith in humanity! Charles is a demon who enjoys the comforts and pleasures of the mortal world! TOGETHER THEY FIGHT CRIME/ FIGHT EACH OTHER/ SAVE THE WORLD/ ADOPT LOST AND/OR ABANDONED SOULS. AND I THINK THIS SONG WOULD BE ADORABLE FOR THEM.

I was reading someone's review for X-Men: First Class (I can't remember whose) and I spent five minutes cackling when they referred to the X-Men as Teenage Mutant Ninja Mutants. BLOODLIMIT JUTSUS ARE MORE OR LESS LIKE MUTATIONS, RIGHT? Oh my god, the first class mutants would make such terrible ninjas, they'd just be goofing off with their abilities ALL THE TIME and Erik and Charles would be the long-suffering teachers/ team leaders.
- HOGWARTS AU! I can barely remember what the character traits involved with Sorting are but whatever, MAGIC + MUTANT ABILITIES = AMAZINGNESS
- NOIR OR NEO-NOIR AU! I've just finished watching Brick for the eight-kajillionth time and I would love to read all the things about P.I.'s and femme fatales (...is there a term for male femme fatales?) and moral ambiguity and that stylized dialogue oh my god that dialogue hhhhnnnnnggggggggg. I wish I could say that I love this movie solely because of Joseph Gordon-Levitt but hell everyone was so goddamn amazing in this and it was so well written and I didn't even care that I knew what the story was going to be before I finished watching it the first time around AND THE ANGST WAS LOVELY AND DELICIOUS AND OH MY GOD I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN.
- ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY, I DON'T EVEN WATCH ZOMBIE MOVIES OR READ ZOMBIE NOVELS OR WHATEVER THE HELL ELSE BUT THEN I READ A GENERATION KILL ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE FIC AND THEN MY ENTIRE LIFE CHANGED. Although there was that time I read Final Fantasy VII xeno-fic and I'm not sure if that counts, except now I can't find it anymore, so. ALSO I THINK THIS SONG WOULD BE SUPER APPROPRIATE:
- ETA: Oh also also! ONE PIECE AU! THE TALE OF CHARLES F. XAVIER AND HIS QUEST FOR THE ONE PEACE. BUT IT'S MOSTLY ABOUT FORMING HIS PIRATE CREW, THE X-MEN, AND SHANGHAI-ING THEM IN RIDIC SCENARIOS. AND THEY ALL HAVE TO HAVE PIRATE NAMES ADJFKSDJF;AIDJFAFJFKD OH MY GOD IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUNNNNNNNN
IN CONCLUSION: I LOVE AUs.
