Collaboration panel follow-up
Hello, friends! At VividCon this year, I led a panel based on an idea Laura Shapiro brought to me awhile back -- an activity that would partner up people in the room to help bring unmade vids to life. This idea goes beyond the classic notion of collaboration, which is typically an equal(ish) team who works together on a vid. For this panel, we widened the definition to include really anything you need to make your vid happen. The proposed options were:
- A song for my idea
- Someone who can make it on their system
- A partner / 2nd brain / 2nd set of eyes as we vid it on my system
- Help developing my concept (aka pls let me talk at you)
- A beta
- Cheerleading!
- Tech help for [software / platform]
- Source files for [fandom]
- Other:
Those of us with orphan vid ideas filled out a sheet to describe the situation and taped it to ourselves. We then wandered the room and talked to each other about our ideas and offered services to each other. It was exciting to see how many connections were made! A lot of cool vids are in the works, y'all.
I was asked to make this post as a place for people at that panel to reconnect and confirm their plans in comments. (Sorry for the delay!) But I also would love to see this be a place where people who didn't get to attend the panel can promote their vid in need, too. Tell us about your project and describe what you need. You never know who might be the perfect helper in waiting!
