First: Hi, I'm Merry, your Web admin and LJ/List Town Herald for this flight. Having killed Seah and hidden her body, I have now, in the way of our kind, risen to take her rank.
And now, the fun stuff!
The Club Vivid Challenge is now live! Here's how it works:
1. Visit
http://www.vividcon.com/clubvivid.cgi 2. ...what? That's pretty much how it works!
There you will find a form that will allow you to suggest songs for Club Vivid dance vids. If you would like to make the vid yourself, or have an already-made dance vid that we have never played before at Club Vivid, you can still send in the song; just check the "I have made / I will make this vid" box. If we decide to include the song & vid in the final playlist, we'll contact you for it.
The form will be live from now until January 17th. On Wednesday, January 19th, we will post the final list of suggested songs (that haven't already been claimed via the form) to the VividCon Livejournal (
http://www.livejournal.com/community/vividcon) at 2pm Eastern time.
If you see a song on the list that you want to make a vid to, post a comment to the livejournal claiming the song. If more than one person claims a song at the same time, the first commenter in the livejournal listing gets the song. Please check the comments to make sure your song hasn't already been claimed.
Club Vivid vids must be uploaded by April 1. We can accept vids in almost any format, but separate MPEG-2 and WAV audio is the most convenient. More info on how to upload vids will be posted closer to the due date.
Information on song genre and how to claim a song* for the challenge can be found at
http://www.vividcon.com/clubvivid.cgi. So, go there!
*Nothing bad will happen to unclaimed songs; they will be taken to live with a large family with many children on a farm in Iowa, where they will frolic among the trees and mountains and streams, pausing only to snarf the occasional rabbit.
