(no subject)
Have just encountered possibly the most irritating and dozy woman in the world - and yes, it was in a not-to-be-named tube station office.
My new ticket flashed up "Seek assistance" when I tried to go through. I tried it again, just in case. Nothing. So showed my ticket, went through, and up to the window to get my ticket changed.
"You probably put it through yesterday, before it was valid" said dumbo. "Er, no, I didn't actually" I said.
"Ah here it is, it didn't work because you put it through twice."
"Yes, but I put it through the second time because it didn't work the first time." I said, reasonably, I thought. "So why didn't it work?"
"Because you put it through twice." Dumbo replied, with an air that it was she not I who was talking to an idiot.
"Okay, well, why didn't it work the first time?"
"Oh I don't know about that."
"Well, can you just change my ticket for me, for one that does work?"
"Oh no, because it will work next time you use it. It only didn't work this time because you put it through twice."
"See you tomorrow."
