Title: Drinking Game Goes Wrong
Rating: PG
Characters: Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Clint, Natasha, Thor & Loki
Author Notes: Written in response to a dialogue prompt on the
avengerkink. Here's the prompt:
"Punch him, Steve! Punch [him/her] in the face! Punch [hiiiiiim/heeeeer]!"
It started out simple enough, have a fun, restful night in. Have a few drinks, share a few stories, relax a little from the day's villain of the week attack, maybe teach Thor and Loki a drinking game ... how did it go so wrong?
"You Midgardians are so fragile, no wonder you need to wear suits into battle."
"Yeah ... well ... Steve's suit is just stretchy fabric. I'm sure if he hit you it would leave a bruise."
"Yeah! Tony's right!"
"Really? You think any of you could harm me?"
"Yeah we do! Come on Steve punch the guy, so him a thing or two."
"I'm not going to punch Thor. I think we should call it a night-"
"No Steve, Merdia's right. Punch him, Steve! Punch him in the face! Punch hiiiiiiim!"
"No Tony I'm not punching anyone in the face."
"What's wrong Captain Rogers ... afraid you would prove me right?"
"Thor I am not going to punch you. We've all just had a little to much to drink-"
"An excuse, you just don't want to admit that I'm correct, afraid to loss face in front of the team."
"Loki a little help with your brother?"
The God of Mischief looked over from the chair he was lounging in while having a heated discussion with Bruce about science verse magic. He almost seemed annoyed that they had been interrupted.
"Sorry Captain but I've learned from experience, once Thor gets something in his head he will not be easily distracted from his goal. It's best to just go along with him and try to keep the damage to a minimum."
"So you want me to punch him?"
"What?" It was clear that Loki and Bruce had been so involved in their conversation they had no clue what was going on in the rest of the room.
"Thor why is Steve offering to punch you?"
“I was merely stating how they are more fragile then us brother, Tony and Clinton fill that Steve would prove this wrong.”
“Okay enough talking, let's get to the punching. Come on Steve!”
“Tony for the last time I'm not going to punch him-.”
“Why? Afraid you'll break a nail?”
“I believed Lady Natasha to be the only female on the team, was I incorrect-”
The sound of glass shattering has Thor grunted in pain drew everyone’s attention to the god. It appeared that said team member was not
happy with being pulled into the discussion. The remains of the vodka she broke over his head fell from her fingers as the assassin moved towards her partner.
“Steve's right, come on Clint, time to turn in.”
“Come on Nat I'm not even tired. OUCH! LET GO OF MY EAR! TONY HELP!”
“Ummmm … sorry Feathers I've had her mad at me before, I think I'll just head to my lab.”
“I believe I shall also turn in. Bruce we can continue this tomorrow.”
“Uh, yeah, sounds good. Tony hang on I'm walk with you to the labs.”
“Umm … shouldn't we move Thor first?” Steve was still staring at the unconscious thunder god. Loki stopped next to the captain to look at his brother.
“No Steve, I feel it is best to leave him there, again, speaking from experience. Good night Captain.”
“Uh … good night Loki,” Steve looked over Thor one more time before heading to the door. “I wonder what would have happened if I had punched him in the face?”
