Squeezing in an entry on an incredibly busy, head-pounding (literally) week.

Two Fridays ago, my boss decided to bring me along to give a one-on-one meeting with one of the executives that he was supposed to talk to alone. Yes, I do run the meetings for everyone else but the big wig requested my boss. But of course, if my boss asks me to go, I can't refuse.

One year ago, my knees would be buckling but for some reason, this year, I've gotten over the fear of meeting people hi and low and all I want to do is get over the meetings. I just don't really enjoy public speaking. I'm so happy the formal ones are all done. I'm on to the make-up sessions.

Anyhoo, the meeting with the exec went pretty well and I was quite happy that my voice didn't quiver. On my way to the elevator on the executive floor, we pass by the ceo. At the elevator, my boss mumbles the name of the man standing there. I figure he must be another one of the executives. The three of us get into the elevator.

My boss proceeds to introduce himself so I casually do the same. "Hi, I'm Vivian, it's my pleasure to meet you." The man responds, "I'm sorry, you name is Viiivian??" "Yes." I respond and smile wondering why he would even care to know my name. He pleasantly asks how we're doing and wishes us a very good weekend. We reach our stop on the 2nd floor and leave.

As soon as my boss and I enter the double-doors, I ask him: "So who was that?" He seemed appalled that I didn't know.

"That was Ronnie Lott."

"Who's that?" I ask. "That's a football player!" he responds. I'm sorry, I don't usually watch football I tell him. I google him and find him on the Hall of Fame. My coworkers were all excited that I met the guy. I don't watch too much football! But geez, even my dad knows who Ronnie Lott is.

So I met Ronnie Lott in the elevator two weeks ago. :)

Back to work. TGIF!!
