Hello!

Sorry that I didn't meet many of you at the feast.

[A pause, as though she is thinking of elaborating. But she doesn't.]My name is Antonia Santos Diegues, but I am called Nieta. I am the mistress of the castle's kennel. I don't need a lot of help like Joe or Sycora, but if you wish to talk, my kennels are on the opposite side of the bridge ( Read more... )

[Well that's a whole lot of moonspeak that he doesn't understand. Thank the Andraste's left tit the book translates.]

Dog? I don't suppose you have any of the mabari variety lying around and begging for ham?

[Sure that other lady told him that his dog would be in the stables but there was no trace of him there. And wouldn't it make much more sense for a dog to be in a kennel?]

Every dog loves ham.

But I have never seen a mabari. My dogs are all golden retrievers.

Have you looked in the stables?

Which is why I should really find mine. If he doesn't get his he'll end up eating someone. Can't have that now.

What a coincidence, I've never seen a retriever.

Not the first place I would go looking for a dog, but I have checked.

I'm sorry. If he isn't in the stables, then he isn't here right now.

[B-baww. Hawke wants his puppy. ;A;]

Now that's a shame. He's going to be rather upset without me there. Hope he doesn't tear apart my house while I'm gone, or my servants for that matter.

[The last thing Hawke wants to do is pick bits of Bodahn and Sandal off the floor.]

I am certain that they will be fine. And...

You should check the stables frequently. Pets are like people. It may take some time, but he may appear. If he does, he will be there.

But if he is so lively, then perhaps you will not need to check.

When he shows up-[Yes when, not if.]-everyone will know it.

I will need to work harder, or your mabari will be a better hunter than my pups.

But you had better keep him away from the Bessies!

Oh I'm sure he could teach them a thing or two if you asked him nicely. He did a fantastic job training city guard recruits after all.

[He still chuckles every time they jump at the sight of his dog.]

As long as he's fed there's nothing to worry about.

Your dog trained other dogs?

[That's got to be one intelligent dog.]

[You have no idea.]

No, but he did teach the guardsmen of Kirkwall a healthy respect for the mabari. He would be an excellent role model for your pups.

... My dogs will track and fetch game. They don't attack people.

Well they don't have to if you don't teach them that. Thunderbutt can easily chase down game as he can can chase new recruits around the barracks.

[She laughs.]

Your dog is called Thunderbutt?

It's a long story. Let's just say he's powerful in more ways than one.

That's awful!

[In the funniest way.]

Your servants must have hated having him in side. What sort of world has such powerful dogs but no retrievers?
