typos be damned!beckersherJuly 30 2007, 08:49:24 UTC
Well, I've finished it now, so I guess I'm supposed to have an opinion right?
Um. I feel prettymuch exactly the same as I did going into it, only now I know the series is over cause she's officially killed off (or prematurely balded) all the good characters.
I really don't know. I only finished it this afternoon, though I can say I really don't like how she writes. Rowling, she writes badfic, and it hurts deep inside. I've read dozens of fanfic better than her versions of the story and WOMG.
THE FOUNDERS? STEP OFF MY FOUNDERS, ROWLING. You do nothing but stain my Godric and make him LESS THAN AWESOME. WHICH IS NOT COOL. You know what?? His sword, is a real mothering sword. Not some sissy rapier. Wtf is a guy in the middley-ages gonna do with a rapier? LOOK SISSY, THAT'S WHAT. BROADSWORD, BITCHES.
ahem. you can tell I have a thing for the gryffindor? I've played him for years in an rpg... I love my gallant ric so much. u_u
I never really liked Ginny. Or Cho. Or.. any girl she tried to thrust at Harry. I was still rooting for him and Draco to hook up by the end. Sadly not meant to be though. 9_9 The wall-of-fire scene though? Made my heart kind of flutter.
Hm, what else? I liked Harry's Heroic Moment during the last battle. I could totally see it in Film format (though if the films keep going at the rate they are, these moments are gonna be so messed up, or not in the film at all;;). I highly doubt he was actually standing on a table or something cause I was reading so fast at that point, and staring down at Voldemort on the ground and being all BITCH, PLEASE down at him. Make this a low-angle shot plzkthzbai.
AND I STILL DON'T BELIEVE SIRIUS IS REALLY DEAD. Despite even the resurrected!posse scene, which was augh, cheese.
but uuum. this book didn't drive me into blind red-tinted rages like OotP did, or didn't put me to sleep like GoF or H-BP. Tho I did want to reach into the book and slap Hermione a lot. LIKE, A LOT.
OH GOD THIS IS MORE LIKE HARRY POTTER AND THE CAPSLOCKED REVIEW OF AUUUUGH. Good title, eh? I like it like I like my women cars; hard, fast and with black racing stripes, AND PREFERABLE A TRANSFORMER.
UM. BUT ONLY IF THIS BOOK COULD HAVE TRANSFORMED INTO A YELLOW CAMARO THX.

Actually, the biggest thing that bugged me about the book was that she's now writing, knowing they'll be films eventually. So the quality of the stories is no watery and effects based (yes, a book can be too effects heavy) that the story died. The characters were completely different than the way they used to be. And REMUS DIED! That made me sad, especially after just having a child and after Harry's OMGWTFRESPONIBILITY!!! tirade.
And since we never got an explanation of what that thing in the Department of Mysteries was, I am in my firm belief that Sirius (or Puppy as he is lovingly known by me) is somewhere out there...beneath the pale moonlight. *ahem*
