You need something in heavy satin and bias cut at the bare minimum.

I have a vintage wedding dress. It is from the thiries and beige heavy satin, very fitted up top with a huge train. It has some beading (beige and brown) on it, but it doesn't look like a wedding dress. I bought it for the fabric in high school. It is about a size 10. Buttons up the back in satin covered buttons. It even has matching fingerless gloves.
As long as the train wasn't damaged, I would not be adverse to the top being altered.
