Huzzah for the Mother!!!!

My Mama is the coolest Mama in the whole entire world :)

She came up Saturday night for my choir concert yesterday and took me out to dinner and coffee (actually, a mocha) afterwards. It's so much fun to see her! Yeah, I've definately seen my family more times this year than my entire Freshman year combined (or close to it), but it wasn't all planned. There was a certain scary illness and other random stuff such as the JA vs. Prep football game that had to be witnessed. Anyhoo, it doesn't matter how often I see any one of my family, it's always a blast to catch up with them.

So then Sunday Mama came to church with me because she had never been with me to Christ Pres (seeing as how her husband, aka my father, is a pastor and they always go home Sat night so he can preach). That was lots of fun for her to meet everyone. AND THEN she had pre-made two huge chicken and rice casseroles and toasted French bread and a huge salad which she brought over to Dan and Trey's house for all my RUF buddies. It was SOOOOO much fun! They really enjoyed the food, and my Mama got to meet all my friends. It was a great hour and a half.

So then I had to go to the rehearsal and performance for the choir concert, which I may say went swimmingly. I wish we could have had another week to polish certain places, but I think it went very well, and Mama said she didn't notice anything negative in Women's Glee. Wahooee! Deanna and Becca came, which was lots and lots of fun. Plus, Mama got to meet my voice teacher, which was an added bonus.

So then we picked up Wendy's, went back to the condo where my Mama was staying, and ate while watching a two-hour documentary on the U. S. Secret Service, which was very interesting. We both learned a lot about the security measures it takes to protect the President. It focused on the President speaking for the LSU graduation last year and the security prep it took for that to be safe. About a week and a half, a few thousand man hours, sniffing each of the 13,000 seats for bombs a couple times, securing the airport, etc. - all for the Pres to be on the ground 80 minutes. That's pretty incredible.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, and I enjoyed spending time with my Mama and my friends :)
