Google buys SketchUp

So I'm a little behind in my web culture, and just downloaded Google Earth for the Mac. Sweet. GIS finally has a GUI. Almost as cool as the first day I saw a web page from Eastern Europe, back in the day. I get the feeling that the Googledudes are so rich they just buy up whatever tech they think is cool, like SketchUp. I haven't spent enough time exploring the crevices of the googlized sketchworld, or the sketchified googleplex, but I can hear those old twentieth-century petrified brains grinding gears. Or maybe that's me.
