O'Malley Legacy, Part 1

Finally I'm able to post my legacy!
I'm going to write this one in a story format, and will feature more text than pictures, given that Sims 3 doesn't have much apocalypse custom content to give it a more realistic look (not that I know of). I still wanted to play by the theme and that's what I'm doing. Anyway, I hope you like this!

-----------

Aiden O’Malley was thrilled. After six long years at Veronaville, he was finally going back to his favorite place in the whole world. Sunset Valley, his beloved hometown.

He missed his neighbourhood very much. The landscaping, the warm breeze, the spectacular view, the friendly people...

He couldn’t wait to go back to all of it. He had been able to travel around the world, but he still missed the peaceful, suburban life at his hometown.

He was also looking forward to see his parents again, it had been so long since the last time he talked to them.

But as the taxi was approaching the urban area, he immediately knew something was wrong. Everything looked normal from a certain distance, but the air felt different, heavy, toxic. The houses were unusually quiet, some of them starting to look abandoned. He couldn’t hear the usual city noises, and the silence was way too frightening.

Something serious had happened here.

He got down and started walking around. The once perfect house gardens were covered in weed sand long grass. There were rusty cars, trash cans flipped over, broken windows, damaged furniture, clothes and personal objects scattered around the ground. He thought he was becoming insane when he noticed some traces of blood on the doors.
The air turned heavier and heavier as he reached the big park.

That park in his memories, green and beautiful...

...was completely dead. No sign of life anywhere.

The whole vegetation looked dry and the only thing that seemed to grow was weeds.

It went worse when he noticed the city hall and the movie theatre. More trash piled up, blood, bones and even torture machines left there.

Aiden shivered as he kept looking around him. It was like a bad nightmare from which he couldn’t wake up. Now he understood why the taxi driver was so reluctant to take him there. He thought of leaving the town, but had to do something first.

He arrived at his parents’ house, expecting to find something different. But he didn’t. It looked the same as every other house in the neighbourhood.

He walked into the house with fear and resignation...

...seeing more and more devastation around the house, everything was dusty and broken, like someone had robbed the place. It also smelled of....blood. He looked around once more, trying to find the source.

He found his father’s urn in his study/office. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

Then he rushed to the second floor, only to find his mother and younger sister’s urn in there. He felt like his whole world was falling apart, and he wished he had died with them too. He shouldn’t have left his family behind.

Aiden went downstairs and sat in the living room, heartbroken, thinking of what to do now.

There was no life, no hope in there. He knew the best for him was to go away and never return. What kind of future would he have in that dead place, where something so awful must had happened to make a whole town dissappear?
He even tried to call a taxi to take him out of there, but the phone service didn't seem to work. Now, what would he do all alone in this abandoned place?
