life = thumbs up

mmm....things are good. time goes by faster than i can keep track of, which i guess is neither good or bad. roomies and i are seeing neil young in cow-town this weekend, and also dropping our friend Grace off at the airport, as she is going to central america for 2 months, exciting! i would like to travel down there at some point. we're looking after her and her boyfriend's dog Mobey while they're away, she is a 2 year old chocolate lab and so much fun to have around! i've been enjoying the activity around the household. it's been a good week, still slow at work, but what can ya do. it'll pick up soon. Joe was in camp all week (he is a land surveyor), as sometimes they have to be farther away than is worth it for the daily trek, so they stay for the week. it's getting pretty chilly 'round these parts, i'm sure he is glad to be home =)

Geoff's uncle died last night, as he was a life-long smoker. it makes me think of my parents, and how they are also life-long smokers. if you smoke your whole life, it's more than likely that you'll die a slowly deteriorating, pathetic death. makes me sad to think about.

did everyone celebrate thanksgiving? we did it up at our place, i made some pumpkin pies from scratch, which turned out very well. i have been in to baking a lot lately. geoff and i have started baking our own bread, and i'll never go back to store bought. homemade bread is soooooo good, and we've gotten the recipe down. it's perfect! matttttt also came over and made a soup, and Joe made apple freakin' chutney, which i've been putting on everything since. and we had turkey and homemade stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes, and of course some of my homemade bread =). we do lots of pot-lucks at our place, basically every weekend. it's pretty fantastic. good food makes me happy. there is a woman in town, Kate, who hosted a chakra workshop at the shanti yoga studio in Peg city like 2 years ago, that i went to with mangies! it's very uncanny! she was working the "Jungle Tribe" booth at Shambhala, which is where we hooked up again! we have been seeing each other quite a bit, and she's an awesome lady. we're havin supper at her place tomorrow evenin'.

well, life is grand, no complaints here

and also, remember to be thankful EVERY day, not just the one day of the year which calls for it!
