Manga Review and World Cup Musings
How was the World Cup for everyone? I'm pretty happy with my favourite teams so far. Germany was great against Australia and Brazil was OK, but I thought Spain, Portugal and England were a bit of a letdown in their games with less attacking. But Argentina just beat South Korea 4-1, which has me half happy and sad because although Argentina was the better team, I was hoping South Korea could do better than that.
Anyway, some manga talk for this week's chapters.
KHR 294- Is that 8059 in my KHR??
After a fairly slow start in the Inheritance arc, I finally get something to fangirl about <3 So for all of Gokudera's almost tsundere personality when it comes to Yamamoto we got lines like "Gokudera-kun's voice was shaking" and "I won't forgive whoever did this". Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought that was sweet and adds to all the 8059 vibes in the manga.
On a little more serious note, I was half expecting Hibari to find Yamamoto but Ryohei's a good choice too since he has sun flames. But Yamamoto's condition was worst than I expected, considering Ryohei did try to heal him. I couldn't believe how hypocritical the Shimon family was for daring to appear and the hospital an being seemingly concerned.
Naruto 499- A crack theory came true.
After the meaningful yet slightly cheesy conversation Naruto had with his mother last week, Kushina being revealed as the previous kyuubi jinchuuriki earned a WTF reaction from me and it subsequently raises a whole lot of questions like why did the Kyuubi go berserk years ago? Is Madara involved in this? Did Naruto inherit some of Kushina's special chakra? How is the Rokudou Sennin involved in all this? Kishi.. how evil of you to go on a break and leave us with this cliffhanger for two weeks.
Bleach 408- More training but Tatsuki makes my day.
Isshin has to have a lot of reaitsu to allow ichigo to meditate for three months. But that means he won't be able to do much in SS and it'll all be up to Ichigo, who I hope will be mentally stronger after the training. A Zangetsu who is less than happy also quite intriuging. Will Ichigo be only meeting Zangetsu? Will his hollow also make an appearance? Keigo was funny as usual, but it was nice to see him and Tatsuki. There seems to be some implicit trust Tatsuki is putting in Ichigo and I'm sure some people feel the Tatsu/Ichi vibes, apart from some Tatsu/Keigo, neither of which I particularly support. But it has been practically ages since Ichigo left them to fins answers for themselves and once everything gets back to normal, Ichigo will have to get together with the Karakura gang and resolve it somehow, especially with those who have spiritual powers and are aware of his secret.
I've only reached chapter 260 of One Piece but have finished Claymore. Pretty good development for a two week manga marathon ^^
