Consider it a "guilty pleasure"

In general I'm not a fan of Thomas Borchert as Krolock outside of the 10th Anniversary Concert TdV album. I listened to the new Viennese cast album once and despised it. BUT... but, but but... I decided to give it another listen just now thinking maybe I won't despise it as much if I skip over the tragedy that is Vor dem Schloß.

I cannot believe I'm saying this but this particular performance of Gott ist tot is really... well... hot. I was distracted by something else during it until the middle when the song really starts to take off. I stopped what I was doing to listen and now I'm ready for a cold shower.

Gernot Kranner really needs to move on from Tanz (he sounds so bored with the role that I get bored just listening to him) and I am--and will always be--disappointed with the atrocious performance of Vor dem Schloß, but at least now this CD wasn't a total waste of the time it took to download from a link someone was generous enough to share because they were probably furious about having lost their money on it and didn't want to see anyone else suffer the same mistake money.

*listens to Gott ist tot again*

Yes. It's definitely hot. But make no mistake... Steve is still better.
