My "fandom has taken over my brain" moment of the day:
At work I was writing up a story that had something to do with the Earned Income Tax Credit (I think that's what it's called anyway). On the release it was frequently abbreviated "EITC." Naturally, ever time I saw that my mind immediately turned it into "East India Trading Company."
What can I say, fandom keeps life fun even while working on tedious tax-related stories.
