House of Leaves is slowly engulfing me, as I am sure is the point of it. When I first started reading it, which was quite a while ago mind you, I wasn't that intrigued. I thought it was kind of a slow and boring start and it was wordy and didn't make sense. It's definitely a book you have to stick with. It's so intricate with a lots hidden in it that it's easy to miss some of the more minor yet colorful details. It's brilliant. And I am excited to see how it ends. But the point of this is that I like to highlight and mark lines to I find particularly beautiful/funny/absurd/etc. Here are a few of them

"if you steal her once, steal her twice
or free us with a glance - for an only child is the only chance
to end this wicked curse -
the only way, we say,
you rid a sea with dance
and banish love to verse"

"Love's love in her blackest season"

"But you are too young for trees to know
anything of their lives. Oh what a crippled
existence 900 years must lead"

"Some people reflect light, some deflect it, you by some miracle, seem to collect it."

"- an entire history of the stars briefly caught in the Sound"

"...do not entrust your future to the limits of your stride"

"Beware of that lazy eye, it only teaches you how to die"

"What did God really know about brothers (or for that matter sisters)? He was after all an only child and before it all an equally lonely father."

"If I find out you didn't give it to her.....I'm going to burn your life down."

"This punker gets on a bus and takes a seat. His hair's all green, he's got brightly colored tattoos covering his arms and piercings all over his face. Feathers hang from each earlobe. Across the aisle sits an old man who proceeds to stare at him for the next fifteen miles. Eventually the punker gets pretty unnerved and blurts out:
'Hey man, didn't you do anything crazy when you were young?'"
Without missing a beat, the old man replies:
'Yeah when I was in the Navy, I got drunk one night in Singapore and had sex with a Bird of Paradise. I was just wondering if you were my son.'"

That's just a few stuff. The book is reseasonably lengthy and some things I only underlined so I couldn't find everything.

Let's party
