i love my neighborhood; i love my gun.
no, actually my neighborhood is really awesome. the other night i was walking to the neighborhood bar to meet some friends and some dudes were hanging outside their house. in any other part of town, people would get nervous but i was just happy and smiling when he addressed me as "hey dollbaby" and then went along with his business. this afternoon was the first time i felt nervous...but there was a random man walking around yelling 'fuck. fuck the white people. fuck'.
work is fine. forty hours a week with objects and more objects. inventory and the computer.
i've spent way too much money in the past four days...on other people's dinners. actually, they have been good causes but i dislike handing over my money. suez and i drove up to see my beloved lindsay right before she departed for ecuador. it's not good that she is going to be so far away for two years. i haven't stayed friends with most people from freshmen year; i really value our friendship and ex roommateship etc. also it was my brother's birthday and the creepy old waiter definitely was touching me right in front of him. inappropriate.
my parents are coming into town next week. and all it's going to do is rain rain rain how depressing. the outdoors is my favorite part about this city. the big news is they bought a new house. a mountain cabin in the blue ridge parkway area circa my grandparents' old house. they are super excited and it will be fun to help them choose their minimalist look. it also means that they will be spending more time up here and i will be spending less time down in florida. it's 2bedroom/2bath with a jacuzzi in both bathrooms. and a fireplace in one of the bathrooms?12/ also a basement that we can convert to a fun awesome play room. i am already planning to escape many fall weekends to this house. there are awesome places to hike and swim and play. hideaway!
