What up. Lots of stuff has been happening in my life lately.

I started listening to a band called "Thrice". I saw their DVD and now I love them. So yeah, I want to have their babies. Just listen to "Stare at the Sun" and you'll probably agree. Their lyrics are so profound and emotional. I love this song because I can relate to it a lot, I remember feeling the same way.

Stare at the Sun by Thrice
I sit here clutching useless lists,
and keys for doors that don't exist
I crack my teeth on pearls
I tear into the history
Just show me what it means to me in this world,
yeah, in this world

cause I am due for a miracle
I'm waiting for a sign
I'll stare straight into the sun
and I won't close my eyes
till I understand or go blind

i see the parts but not the whole
i study saints and scholars both
no perfect plan unfurls
do i trust my heart or just my mind
why is truth so hard to find in this world
yeah in this world

cause I am due for a miracle
I'm waiting for a sign
I'll stare straight into the sun
and I won't close my eyes
till I understand or go blind

i know that there's a point I've missed
a shrine or stone i haven't kissed
a scar that never graced my wrist
a mirror that hasn't met my fist
but i can't help feeling that i'm

due for a miracle
I'm waiting for a sign
I'll stare straight into the sun
and I won't close my eyes

Yeah, I love that song. I'm going to learn the acoustic version of that.

also, i'm in a real band now. i have been drafted into forever saved as a lead singer. so that's always good.

I also wrote a song. Actually, 1 song, a chorus to another, and a verse and chorus to another. All in one night. It was wierd. At around 3 in the morning, I was sick of playing San Andreas so I turned off all the lights and was trying to go to sleep when I got a little tune that I started humming. Just randomly came into my head. So I got up, wrote out the notes, and then I (just as randomly) thought of a line that kinda sounded cool so I wrote it down and tried to put it to my melody. And so on and so forth. Two hours later, here's what I came up with. It might not be great, but I think it's decent for my first real lyric writing attempt. And it was written between 3 AM and 5 AM, so give me a break?

(chorus)
Here I am, my life is in your hands
And I lose the strength to stand
I'm lifted up beyond this pain
In your eyes, my hardened heart is thawed
And the love that I have sought
Comes flowing down like rain

(verse and chorus)
The log in my eye blinds me
to the strife that dwells inside me
My soul will know its wrong
But my body will still go on
Where can I find the power
to be a slave no longer
to the dangers of my pride
I'll find the strength inside

I fall face down, I'm unworthy to see
that grace that you will always give me
Your love, it knows no parallel
This faith will lift me from where I fell.

(Come what may)
There is no wway to hide from it
I'll never be enough
Your voice will try to show love
And that's what makes this so tough
Your scorn and prideful anger
Gives your true feelings away
I don't know how much longer
I can hold my tears at bay

(chorus)
I'm sorry that I'm a dissapointment
But I'm tired of hearing where I should have went
There's more to life than what you say
I'll find a better path, come what may

You've hurt me for the last time
You're scarring my weak soul
This is heard for you to hear,
But I'm walking out that door
I know you'll say its a mistake
I know you'll call it evil and wrong
You wouldn't set me free
And this has waited far too long

(chorus)

*still working on the bridge*

Well, tonight I'm going to try to write verses for the first chorus. Maybe I'll have something more to post tommorow?

Yeah. Other stuff's been going on that makes life tough, but livejournal isn't the place to talk about it.

Good night.
