The Wedding Reception at "Mae'r Castell o Hud Gwyllt"

Everything was a blur and Francis' head was spinning wildly as he was ushered into a sleek Bentley Driven by what he could only describe as the Ugliest GOBLIN of a man he'd ever laid eyes on and then he turned to Arthur. "Mon Amour, I think you must tell me now things you have hidden from me. No secrets. Just who are you... Really?" Francis asked ( Read more... )

"No no no no no! Not there. Goblins. More of a hindrance than a help, any single day." Her Sprites were off decorating the higher floors, filling all the rooms with comfortable cushions and smells. After all, guests need to be treated to the finest. But that left the Goblins with her in the lower hall. And she couldn't hate them, ever, because the poor dears weren't actually doing anything harmful. All their intentions were to be helpful and aid her interests. She couldn't be mad at them even if they'd managed to drop and break about 16 center pieces and Obeltartdle had eaten about as many soft multicolored roses. It was a terrible job. She'd felt like she'd walked into the sky and was quickly depleting her energy, fixing the walls where Goblins had run headlong into them and pierced holes with their horned helmets (all made within the last week probably) and repainting the entirety of the castle interior. (Oh yes, the soft neutral color of the beige was nice, didn't distract from the magnificent rainbow hues of the sparkles, but this was a special occasion and it would go from being a comfortable kind of beauty to over the top. JUST as Titania liked everything to be. A proper production. Every color and shade of the rainbow would be used and about 150% more glitter than even Jareth was used to.) But working with the Goblins and getting everything set up, well, this was all just a nightmare and the guests of honour would be there in five minutes! It just wasn't possible!

"Jareth!" She bellowed. "Jareth stop time! This is an impossible task, you live like a slob!" She wailed, shooing some Goblins out who had come in with some 'party favors' in cages. "No! No! No chickens! NO CHICKENS!" She chased them away, vowing anyone who dared to let chickens loose in here be sentences to harvesting spider's silk at the Arachnid Farms. Her own version of bogging.

"No, my Goblins are slobs. I just gave up trying to follow behind them with a shovel. All you CRETINS OUT! Go back Home and DON'T BOTHER SARAH EITHER!" Jareth ordered and Goblins scattered. He then pointed at a clock and the hands Froze.

"You have an hour, Hold back Mortal time is not easy. And you had better UN DECORATE my house later. I like Neutral. Sarah likes Neutral. This is our get away from the HELL that is the Labyrinth. Put it back the way it was when you are finished. Please." Jareth said kicking Chickens out windows.

GOD. DAMN. FUCKING. CHICKENS!!!! Always the damn chickens!

Oberon couldn't possibly hope to suppress the peal of laughter which erupted out of him as he watched Titania in her feeble attempt to wrangle the goblins the same way she dealt with her faeries. "Brilliant! I think I might just have to tell the entertainment I hired to go home if your performance is THIS good." He applauded, stepping out from the corner where he was watching the futile attempt at decoration. He really could be a bit of an impish jackass at times, and there was really no person he enjoyed egging on more than Titania.

"Those goblins are much better suited for doing the grunt work and drinking themselves stupid afterwards. Get them to lift a table to push a stack of chairs and they are good as gold, but ask them to decorate a hall for a royal wedding reception?? Your time would be better spent herding cats or some such." Now that he thought about it, where the hell were those drivers? The guests were to be arriving soon and it would not look good on anyone's part if the newlyweds were late to their own reception. He was beginning to get a bit peeved at those nincompoop drivers who were taking so long getting their passengers to the castle.

Faeries and goblins alike could be heard grumbling about wanting to eat some of Francis' food instead of what they were making and to be quite frank, Oberon felt the same way. He needed a bit of a distraction. "So where are your favourite new acquaintances, Titania? That beautiful Norwegian boy and Hettie's grandson. Do you have as difficult a time herding humans as you do goblins?"

"My Love," She turned, addressing her king from over her nose. "Please, be a dear, and perhaps help me a little instead of sneaking around in the back over there? Many of the guests arriving come from your line or are connected to you in some way. Rightfully you should be helping. I am only doing what I am because I'm so much better at it." She egged right back. There were no real superiors in the relationship (the very, very open relationship) between the Faery King and Queen. "And Jareth, your son, has kindly stopped time to afford us the chance to finish, now, arrange these roses properly my Dark Lord." She cooed, leaving him to rearrange the center pieces that had been proper when they'd been conjured, but been shuffled by goblins and stray chickens trying to leap up onto the table.

Oh and then the ribbing on her progeny began, didn't it? "They couldn't make it." She said sadly. "My precious one is fighting some mortal troubles. His mother, who as you know I don't associate as mine anymore because she killed off anything of me that was in her, has been less than kind to her youngest. Sadly, that home is so dark and unwelcoming in aura it's been difficult to find even sprites brave enough to wander the halls and keep an eye on my Little Lamb. Siguard will have him in his care by tomorrow morning, and Mathias, your wild son, is going to be helping them establish their lives together. Aren't you pleased, My Love, that your sons have all done so well for themselves? Sarah and Francis and now our bloodlines are reunited in Mathias and Siguard. I am quite please with this." She smirked, planting a kiss to his cheek.

"If you weren't so caught up kicking poultry and herding goblins, you would have seen the work I've been doing so far." Oberon replied with a cheeky edge to his voice, picking up one of the knocked over vases and putting the flowers back inside. "I performed the wedding, and have been arranging the guests and their quarters this whole time...well, maybe not the WHOLE time, but I have been busy." Shrugging his shoulders indifferently, he gave a clap of his hands, summoning a small crew of his own subjects to pick up where the goblins were lagging behind. "If you needed help before this all you needed to do was ask, you know."

Oberon reached over to pick a few stray chicken feathers from Titania's crown of wildflowers perched in her wavy hair. "I will give you that one. My progeny seems to be doing quite well for themselves. Although I don't envy Jareth for having to contend with a wriggling ball of crying half human soon. Sarah is a peach, but neither of them will be getting much sleep. I'm really pleased with Arthur's choice. I can already tell Francis is going to work out swimmingly in this family." Oberon turned towards the kiss, getting one of his own. He could be a shameless flirt when he wanted to be. "You're right. It IS nice to see our lines coming back together again. We'll have to have all of our various progeny brought over for another festive occasion sometime."

Before his hand could sneak the grope it had been reaching for, a small gaggle of faeries manifested in front of them chattering excitedly about the arrival of the guests of honour. "Arthur is here sir! And so is mister Francis. Can he cook for us tonight instead of those smelly goblins?" The pretty, colourful creatures pleaded with their King and Queen.

"No, the GROOM will not be cooking today!" Jareth bellowed adjusting his suit and then going to greet the couple at the door. "And I hired staff in the kitchen's. Not Goblins." He added as he walked toward the grand entrance. Leaving his father and step-mother to flirt and bicker the way they always did... Rather the way he was with Sarah and Arthur was with Francis.
