I am really interested in how other people live their lives...
How much do you think you spend a week on food?
Do you shop and cook all of the time or go out?
I try to cook at home a lot. I spend about $140 a week on groceries. I try to buy a lot of fresh stuff but I don't make enough to splurge on organic or free range, although I would love to. We eat out maybe 2-5 times a week, including breakfast and lunches. These can add up to $200 for the both of us, depending on where we eat.
I also love cooking.
Here is what I made tonight
Orzo with Feta and Tomatoes and Chicken Souvlaki Sticks with Yogurt Dipping Sauce
The picture does nothing to get across how amazing this meal was. It maybe was one of the best things I have eaten in awhile.
I am sad to say that I got these recipes from Rachael Ray - one of my least favorite tv personalities in the whole world. Her voice grates on my soul and I hate how she makes up words or shortens other words and then she needs to explain the shortened version of the word every time she says it. For example EVOL....Extra virgin olive oil....shit, just say the name of what it is instead of explain your shorter, cuter version EVERY TIME!!!!
Getting past my extream dislike of her, this meal was amazing and fresh. It did not, in fact take me 30 minutes to make, more like an hour, but so worth it.
