Wizz Air launches London Luton - Kiev flights
Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would open the London Luton - Kiev Boryspil route starting from 17 December.
Wizz Air is the first low cost airline to operate an international route to Ukraine opening the opportunity of low cost travel to many Ukrainians visiting, living or working in the UK as well as British tourists and businessmen who so far had to cope with high fare monopolists on the route.
The new service will initially be operated four times a week, going up to daily as of 28 March 2009.
Tickets are already on sale with one-way all-inclusive fares starting from as low as GBP 29 or UAH 299 (an additional GBP 40 air duty passenger charge imposed by the UK government is applicable on the London - Kiev flight leg) on wizzair.com and via call center by calling +380 (44) 206-4-888.
"Wizz Air’s launch of the London - Kiev route is a milestone in the aviation between Europe and Ukraine as it is the very first international low cost service to Ukraine." - said John Stephenson, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air. "So far it has been a very protective market with high fares and no service alternatives. British travellers are already well familiar with Wizz Air’s services, as we offer flights to 12 CEE destinations from the UK. Now Ukrainians can enjoy our low fares, reliable service on our brand new Airbus A320 aircraft and the freedom of choice." - he added.
