I am visiting my father, stepmother, and brothers in Virginia. There home is as I have often dreamt of it--a small townhouse set up more like an apartment, with very white walls and a narrow corridor. I've brought my black cat, Tallulah with me. We go outside, to a park or in our yard or something. The ground is covered in snow, and I'm playing with the youngest boy. Suddenly, he starts wetting himself but I just keep playing with him. He's doing it constantly and I start worrying about the wetness freezing as we're out in the snow. I take him to a sunlit area, hoping that will warm and dry him. I want to take him inside to clean and change him, but my stepmother refuses. I tell her and my father that I can't handle them being so inconsiderate, and they tell me that I can leave. However, they say that if I leave, I am not welcome back again. I decide to leave. There's a door outside, as though the "outside" is a room itself. After I go through the door, I'm back in their house. I lean down to pick up my cat, and my stepmother is there. She's very upset with me for deciding to leave, and she's speaking to me very cruelly. She leans down and slaps my cat as hard as she can, as though she is showing me how meaningless my belongings and the things I love are to her. I become furious, grabbing her hair and poking her in the eye.
