Glass camp

Last week was the week that feed my soul. I took the week long intensive flameworking course at The Crucible, and the impression it made on me was profound. It is one thing to dabble in art; it is another thing all together to immerse yourself in the art of your choice for a week straight. The week went by too quickly, and the hours I spent behind a torch each day were too short. It was hard to return to my regular job today, after spending a week learning better glass crafting techniques. At the end of the week my instructor invited me to the glass studio of the head of the glass flameworking department, she needed to pick up some glass, and she wanted me to meet the man that trained her. The art displayed in his studio was awesome, and I was humbled by the experience. I hope to someday achieve to ability craft the works of art that populated this man’s studio. I know that this will takes years and years of hard work, dedication, and training, but I am ready to make that journey. I now know what I what to be when I grow up, it took me almost 44 years to figure it out, but now I know.
