Word. I'm trying not to be consumed by worry that it won't grow back normally. Pain is a good distraction.

You can hardly tell which thumb I nearly cut off now, and I scar terribly. Give it a few weeks, and you will be right as rain. Right?

Yeah, maybe scarring is unlikely, but I do hope it grows back fully. It would be awful to have a sensitive, somewhat mangled looking fingernail until the end of time, right?

That's the theory - I very rarely scar and if I do they only stick around for a year or so. I've just been dodging bullets for long enough now that I'm starting to wonder if my luck will ever run out, not that I want it to, you know?

Oh, and the other part is that it's those weeks that I have to wear bandaids and tape and things, and I can't help but pick at them. I hate bandaids. Even bacon bandaids.
