[At first all that can be heard is a few clicking noises, almost like the sound of pecking. As the video function finally flickers on it can be seen that it was pecking judging by the Pidgey ruffling it's feathers in annoyance at the Pokegear. The bird nudges the device so the video feed is right side up instead of the sideways it initially was.

[A familiar, and pretty much harmless, face seems enough to keep Clair in his depressed state for the time being without him switching to violent mode. He sends the Pokegear a look before waving his hand. The Pidgey picks up the device in his talons and drops it right in front of his master.

One arm still tightly around the Growlithe he tilts his head a little looking at the video feed, his eyes disturbingly blank.]

...Sora?

Do you... need help?

[He doesn't like that look, the blankness makes him think of Nobodies.]

Where are you? I can- head back or something!

[His gaze just falls a little, that look still there.]

Everyone just leaves me. Papa died... Ian and Mitchal died protecting me... Giovanni probably died when he realized I had disappeared back home...

Everyone around me always dies...

I'm... I'm sorry. But you can't think like that! You don't know for sure if he died, right?

[His grip on the poor Growlithe tightens even more.]

Giovanni... I was his only reason for living. He told me... Because I could shine, that he could as well. He's been my bodyguard since I was a child... Without me around... The fear of loosing me again...

What's the point in false hopes? They get you no where except in more pain.

It's only false hope if you're stuck on believing to be. It doesn't have to be. If there's even a chance, you should never give up on it.

But what happens if I keep believing and nothing comes of it? It's pointless. Holding onto something so fragile... It's just a weakness. And weakness can get you killed if you're not careful.

Even something small or fragile can grow into something strong! Who says it has to be a weakness? Or even just stay one?

Papa... Papa told me never to show any weakness, no matter the situation. False hopes and dreams are just that, weak. They'll never come true and you'll never get anywhere chasing them.

Showing weakness isn't a bad thing... sure, it doesn't always help, but what use is it keeping your hopes and dreams inside? Maybe you might not end up reaching your dream in the end, but what about all the stuff you're missing out on by not making that trip in the first place?

Why chase after pointless dreams when you could be working for something that you actually can achieve? It's all just a game in the end after all...

...Happiness is just a mask. No one is ever truly happy. There's only the false image that they are for a short while.

[And this would be why you don't physically and mentally abuse a child to train them to be a mafia boss. It doesn't end well.]
