CHARACTER
Name: Clair Leonelli
Age: 19
Canon: Heat Guy J
History:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_Guy_J#Enemies Personality: At first glance Clair Leonelli seems normal enough. A nineteen year old boy with an almost constant smirk on his face that says he's better than you and he knows it. But it only takes a short while knowing him to find out that the teenager isn't exactly stable. Raised as the only child of the most powerful mafia family in Judoh, Clair's entire childhood consisted of mental and physical abuse in the form of training in order to one day take over Company Vita which was founded by his father. When Clair was nineteen his father died and he was given the position of Vampire; making him the boss of all the other Families. One of the Family heads naturally assumed that this was just some kid that could easily be manipulated so he could take over Company Vita for himself. One meeting with Clair showed that that was as far from the truth as anyone could get. The incident ended with Clair shoving a grenade into the man's mouth, pulling the pin and kicking him in the stomach before walking off with his three bodyguards. Later he even went as far to attempt to send a truck full of napalm to the section of the city the man ran. After that, no one questioned his position of Vampire.
Because of his childhood, Clair tends to be a bit tripolar. As in he can be laughing hysterically while feeling extremely depressed and overly pissed off all at the same time. In fact, he tends to burst into fits of laughter whenever he's most angered or upset. Though he never outwardly blames his father. On the outside he's claims to care deeply about his father, the man's death making a huge impact on his already unstable mind. In reality though it's shown that he hates and resents his father more than anything and will almost be willing to kill anyone who dares to compare him to his late father.
Despite his mental and emotional issues Clair is also shown to be a genius, well fitting his title of Vampire. Though everything is just a game to him, there's hardly anything he takes seriously. Even after loosing thousands of dollars on the stock market he just laughs it off and tries to move onto the next big plan. But later into the series his more serious and vulnerable side comes to the surface. It's shown that while he doesn't generally care for innocent human lives he cares deeply for his caretaker and three bodyguards. There's one point where he gets pissed off and tells his caretaker he no longer needs him and to just get out. The old man pulls out a gun and is about to shoot himself since he's no longer of use to the Leonelli family. Right as he pulls the trigger Clair jerks the gun away so it doesn't hit the old man. After which he falls to the floor saying that no one else should leave him like his father did.
Though Clair isn't all bad. When he hears that his rival's brother was shot and is in the hospital he actually goes as far to order his bodyguards to send the man some flowers in his name, showing that while not completely there, he does have some semblance of a caring side. But quickly after that incident the Leonelli family is framed for something they didn't commit. Pissed off beyond doubt he asks his head bodyguard Giovanni who he thinks is behind it. When Giovanni tells Clair that it was one of their allies he snaps and orders the youngest bodyguard, Ian, to go investigate. When Ian's severed hand is mailed to Clair the next day the Vampire gets eerily calm and simply tells the other two "This means war" while slipping on the class ring that Ian always wore. In an attempt to rally the entire Leonelli family against the man that killed Ian Clair is shocked to realize that same man had taken control of all of his men, the only ones still on his side being the two still living bodyguards, Giovanni and Mitchal. They just barely make it out of the building before they're attacked, and Mitchal slips his lucky dice into Clair's hand before literally suicide bombing the barricade so that Giovanni could use the car to escape with Clair.
The trauma from the incident causes Clair to slip into a catatonic like state for a long time. He only finally snaps out of it when he realizes Giovanni is no longer in the room with him. He leaves and even though every mafia member and police force in the city is looking for him he goes out in a search for Giovanni, wandering the streets half out of it like a ghost. Finding Giovanni under attack he snaps fully back to his usual self in order to fight and get his last living friend out of there safely. By the end of the series Clair is shown to be a little bit more stable thanks to the reality check of loosing half the people he actually cares for. He proves himself and regains the allegiance of the other mafia families and his position of Vampire is reinstated just in time to help his rival, Daisuke, protect the city from a psycho dictator. While his rival turned friend faces off against the leader alone Clair takes it upon himself to be a commander of sorts and leads a fight against the military working for the dictator to buy Daisuke some time.
He obviously has a lot of good points about him though. Clair's best ability is manipulation. As a successful businessman and head of all the mafia families in the city he knows what the wants and how to make other people get it for him. And of course mixed into that he's a genius borderline evil mastermind as shown when he manipulates the stock market with little to no effort. He's also a master with explosives and can even build his own napalm bombs if he has the right materials for it. And, of course, natural leadership skills that has people following him despite his faults.
Faults which may just outweigh his positive traits even. He's obviously unstable with serious emotional problems. The moment something isn't going his way he snaps and takes extreme and impulsive measures that not only endanger his allies but also himself. He's also has serious self esteem issues and thinks he can never be as good as his father, making him overly testy whenever his father is compared to him. And the root of all those, his temper. He loses it fairly easily if things do go the way he expects them to. At the same time, he gets depressed easily as well. And very very impulsive, even as far as Russian roulette when his own life is in danger. He's also fairly weak in hand to hand combat because of his size. Clair also has virtually no self preservation instincts unless a good friend is in danger and his bodyguards spend more time protecting him from himself than from outsiders.
Which of course proves he's also a very co-dependent person. He needs someone to take care of him, to be there with him. Which doesn't mix well with his serious abandonment issues, possibly developed when his father died. He's cocky and arrogant at times as well, always thinking that his plans can never fail. Very childish in the sense that he doesn't understand emotions well, business and violence being the main things he knows because of how he was raised.
From psycho to semi-psycho there's one thing that always sticks with Clair no matter what. He loves explosions, going as far as to refer to grenades and other types of explosives as fireworks.
IN GAME
Brief In-Game History: Casino owner Lorenzo Leonelli had close ties with the Mendolia family and with their assistance was able to build the Leonelli family and hid it under the guise of Company Vita, a company that produced bottled water for all the cities in the area. While Company Vita was used for storing all the family assets, namely a stash of gold in a hidden safe in the president's office, the casino itself was the main base of operations for any and all mafia business. Lorenzo was proud of his achievements, and wished for the family and the company to continue to thrive. He was already into his late thirties when he finally had a son, his only child who's mother 'died' during childbirth. In reality, Lorenzo had promised his son to the Mendolia family for their experiments in order to create a proper heir for the Leonelli family and knew the mother would not approve so he did the one thing he thought best and had the doctor make it so the woman would bleed to death after giving birth.
That way, Lorenzo was free to raise the child as he saw fit and made sure to do his best to shape it into the 'perfect' image of what he declared should be a mafia boss. Clair put up with all his father's abuse, both mental and physical, without a single complaint. He took everything to the point of almost being like a robot, always double checking with his father before doing anything at all. But the treatment and keeping his own thoughts to himself made him unstable, his hatred towards humanity and the Mendolia family kept quietly locked away in his own mind. His mask so good, even he would fall for it at times and truly believe he loved his father more than anything despite the burning hatred for the man who put him through Hell since he was born. He didn't understand the concepts of being 'happy' or anything of the sort, but his father was pleased to find his son was a genius and a natural at manipulation which made him the perfect businessman Lorenzo had wanted.
Clair had a certain affinity for explosives, as the only time his father was ever 'kind' to him was when taking the boy to see fireworks shows over the years. The bangs, bright colors and general destructive powers of them excited the boy to an almost unhealthy degree, but that too he managed to keep to himself. He was nineteen when his father died and the details of the man's death remained unknown but what was written in his will was clear; Clair was to take over his position as company president and as leader of the Leonelli family. Delighted and traumatized by the event at the same time, Clair let himself loose finally and everyone knew they were dealing with a dangerous untamed animal if the got on Clair's bad side. He made some of those he trusted higher ups in the family to replace the ones who supported his father so strongly, claiming that it was time for change and for the Leonelli family to move forward. With his recent discovered abilities from the Scortesia bullet, none of the elder members put up much of a complaint and stepped to the shadows to let the newer ones take their place.
Clair shifts between cool and calculated to wild and uncontrollable at the drop of a hat, but surprisingly managed to keep the company in better condition only a month after his father's funeral. He still shows his loyalties to the Mendolia by giving them a cut of the gold the casino brings in, but secretly he's been thinking of a plan to get closer to those of the Palermi and turn things around for himself.

Third Person: Eyelids fluttered for a moment before Clair slowly pulled himself to consciousness. He was used to falling asleep in the middle of work, so he wasn't overly concerned by the slight stiffness in his back. A slow stretch accompanied by a few satisfying cracks and he was slumped over his desk with a chin propped up in one hand. The sounds coming from the casino were like white noise to him as he tried to remember what had caused him to slip into a nap in the first place. Something to do with... Yes, that was it.
His eyes fell to the half written letter in front of him, the wads of paper littering the floor around his desk and the scorch marks from others that he had burned in a fit of frustration. His hand went to pick up the lighter laying there next to the paper, flicking the top open and close idly as he considered doing away with this one as well. All of them would have to be burned of course, save one. The one he just couldn't seem to write to make it sound like he wasn't just screwing around. He could always ask one of the others to assist with it, but that would be too risky. He still wasn't sure who he could trust and who wouldn't be easily broken for information. And when going against the Mendolias, it was always better to be safe than sorry.
The problem? He still had no clue of what he was supposed to be saying in the letter in the first place. 'My late father was an abusive prick and I wish to assist the Palermi family as a final act of disobedience I never had the balls to pull while he was alive'? Somehow that not only felt like wounding his own pride but also would be taken as a joke, despite it being true for the most part.
A few more minutes passed by with him staring at the papers. He abruptly stood and slammed his hands down on the table, papers falling to the ground as he let out an almost manic sounding laugh. "This is getting me no where. A letter? Just what is that going to accomplish? Why not pay a little visit? After all, the best approach is the direct one, right?"
Clair laughed quietly to himself again, the sound almost drowned out by the noise from the casino. "Well, guess there's really no other choice then."
Picking up all the papers that were scattered about his office he threw them into a bin placed right in the center. "Next time, I won't waste so much time on such worthless matters when the answer's so simple in the first place." Another short laugh as he flicked on his lighter and dropped it into the bin. He took just a moment to watch the flames before strolling out of his office. A disguise was needed to go into enemy territory, and he had just the idea of where to start.
