Chapter 026

Nov 20, 2009 19:10

After being in Mayfield for a few months, I have noticed something strange. I was told at home that having shrines and temples was a normal part of every city. But I have not found either one here...

Why?

I'm afraid I don't really know much about that... shrines weren't all that common where I come from. There was just the Hakurei Shrine and the Moriya Shrine... at least, that's all I knew of, anyway.

Where I am from there is a place called the Naganaki Shrine. We visited it for several festivals... I have many fond memories of it.

I wish I could say I had fond memories of the Hakurei shrine banquet...

... especially considering the rabbit stew... a-at least I got them to add chicken stew, b-but still...

((Lol, yes, she's just boggled))

I do not understand why they would do something like that.

I remember the shrine maiden said it's traditional... but there's times when customs should be changed, right...?

Especially when it comes to anything regarding a rabbit's rights...

There must be a fair balance between tradition and change in order for any ceremony to run properly.

R-right, exactly!

But that shrine maiden is just too stubborn!

When you return home, you should find a way to convince her of this.

... I'm not sure how. Do you have any ideas...?

You could start a peaceful protest or petition for rabbits' rights.

W-well, there's... not really any government to speak of in Gensokyo to petition.

I already tried peacefully protesting... Maybe I wasn't protesting enough, I don't know...

A petition would show the shrine maiden that there ware others concerned about the use of rabbit products in food.

... the shrine maiden already knows, though. She just doesn't care...

She is not a very good shrine maiden.
