Let's put it this way: Never, EVER walk 7 miles in the wrong shoes.
I walked so much this shoabbos it's ridiculous. It was our family friend's daughter's bat mitvah today, and since it's shabbat, we had to walk. Well, Rachel and I went to the wrong synagogue... so that was lots of walking... plus we went and said Hi to Grandpa Morty (Rachel's Grandpa) who is in a "nearby" hospice. After looking it up on google earth tonight, it was about 7 miles.
And my "wrong shoes" I mean that I borrowed a pair of her flip flops (because I didn't want to wear sneakers with a dressed up outfit!) and she is 2 1/2 sizes smaller than I am, plus isn't wide like I am. So my feet have been trashed today. I have loads of blisters, including one which is bloody (hasn't popped, but the fluid is red...) and it hurts to walk anywhere... I had to soak my feet in cold water for 20 minutes when we finally got home after all that walking!
However, it was a really nice shabbos, and I'm glad I'm here and I've gotten to see everyone!
