(no subject)
Today was a great fucking day. I woke up and played my daily morning game of quake, did it to brake in my summer vacation and it was just such a fun way to start my day I've started doing it every day ^_^ it wakes me up and gets my blood pumping. Then I played Half-Life 2, finally get to play some more of my game! I was in the middle of water hazard, now I'm in the middle of Ravenholm, heehee.
Then I played some DOAX (SO FUN) and ani called me! We were originally going to go shopping, but decided to stop by the library for Claire's day (a big kids event) and visited my mom who was working at the flower show n whatnot. Dumb as it sounds, it was fun, saw some TSA people there. Then we stopped for ice cream and at her house so we could show eachother Retarded Things That We'd Found on the Internet(tm). Oh good lord.
Came back home and chillaxed for a while(with more DOAX and half-life 2, of course!) and then ani called me to go see her friend from NYC play at The Underground tonight(we got in for free cuz we were on 'the list'! XD). Started at 11, GREAT show, I loved all three bands, which is really rare for me.
First band were The Cupcakes, super-cute girlband, with one ultra-hot boy guitarist. Squeaky clean as far as I could tell, just some fun, upbeat music. They were great! Got a free live CD, only 4 songs though :( They recorded this show, I believe, so maybe if I ever catch another one of thier shows I can get some more of their stuff.
Secondly was The Dirty Damn Band, two girls, one on bass, one on drums, both on vocals, HILLARIOUS. I really don't know what else to say about, I almost wanna say they were like Grand Buffet, only girls. That's not quite it, but it was badass. If they'd had a CD, I would have gotten it, but they didn't. They have a myspace apparently, so maybe I'll follow their shows and see if I can get one, I want some of my friends to hear it.
Last but not least was Ani's Friend From The Internet, Houston Bernard. He'd been hangin with us on and off the whole night and rockin out to the bands, and he was friendly, certainly, but seemed pretty subdued. Then he got on stage, and, well, let me put it this way...At the beginning he brought out a 6-foot blow up penis and by the end he was wearing nothing but a pair of pink panties. Awesome stuff, some wonderfully uncomfortable entertainment. I got to dance on stage! At the end he gave me a big bear hug and said I was a cutie *^_^* If Mom doesn't feel like driving me to Thor's tomorrow, I'll probably end out hanging with him and Ani, so either way tomorrow's shaping up to be almost as awesome as today was ^_~
