It is goodbye until we meet again,
goodbye my love,
goodbye my friend.
This sorrowful day,
at last, has arrived,
fully abrupt and fully a pain.
I leave you to go,
as thus you have chosen,
into the arms that await you,
so open
and loving and caring,
as such you have told it.
Forget me not, I beg you, please
but know you are, and know you do
and soon enough, perhaps, I shall too.
But until that day, I sit and cry
my lonely heart, tis running dry.
Void of the love that once it possessed,
taken away and then duly crushed
And for what joy am I paid in return?
naught but more sorrow,
as you throw our past away,
and return to the arms of your lover,
today.
So until we meet again, my love,
I'll let you go and do your thing.
I'll only smile when you are near,
for showing you hurts
just brings more of them near
so forget me for now,
as it seems you have done
and know always that tomorrow
is always tomorrow away
and that if you try to love
someone tomorrow
you're love will only fade away
until it's made to be,
today.
