Game of Thrones - Top 10 favorite scenes (season 1) [picspam]
I started watching this show because everyone was talking about it and because of Sean Bean little knowing I`d get hooked and actually watch for the plot! I haven`t read the books and so I was a bit sceptical at first. Some of the excessively gratuitous sexual content in episode 1 almost made me give it up. I`m glad I decided to stick with it because the show really does epitomize great storytelling !
Here is a list of some of my favourite scenes/moments of an awesome first season! It`s actual cruel to restrict them to 10 because there are so many intense and fascinating ones but ah there lies the challenge I suppose ;)

THE TOP TEN
10. The Whitewalkers ( 01x01 ‘Winter is coming’)
“I saw what I saw. I saw the Whitewalkers”
As a non-reader I had no idea what this show was about .
This scene was sudden , shocking and creepy!
Really sets the mood for all that we hear
about the whitewalkers throughout the season.
09. The King in the North (01x10‘Fire and Blood’)
“There sits the only King I mean to bend my knee to. The King in the North!”
This scene was so beautiful I sort of had tears :’) .
Many mentioned that the scene should have been shown closer to the end of the episode and I agree
but that still doesn`t take away from the powerful moment it was!
08. Jon Snow on the wall for the first time ( 01x03 'Lord Snow')
“I wanted to be here when you saw it for the first time”
I thought the wall storyline would end up
being my least favourite at the start but boy was I wrong!
I now find it the best and most intriguing with some great moments.
I`ll probably need a separate picspam for all of that and Jon Snow lol .
I loved how we really kind of ‘understand’ the wall in this scene
and the view was pretty breathtaking! :)
07. Ned and Catelyn say goodbye (01x03 ‘Lord Snow’)
“You watch yourself on the road. That temper of your`s is a dangerous thing.”
Ned`s death brings this scene into my top 10 because it is now one of the saddest scenes ever !
Their love and relationship is so genuine.
Breaks my heart :’(
06. The sky cells 01x05 (01x05 'The Wolf and the Lion')
“Sleep good little dwarf man!”
Yes Lysa Arryn was creepy but the sky cells of The Eyrie were chilling and amazing! Such killer views ;)I loved this scene!
05. The great Khal fights for his Khaleesi (01x08 ‘The Pointy End’)
“First you have to kill me”
“I already have”
This scene was just freaking badass !
Khal Drogo was sooo the man!
04. Ned spots Arya (01x09 'Baelor')
“Baelor!”
I was spoiled regarding Ned`s death before this episode aired so I knew what was coming .
The moment where Ned spots Arya made me tear up though!
On the one hand I was happy that he knew she was safe
but on the other it was just heartbreaking to watch her
watch him being publicly humiliated.
The entire sequence was well done - The drowning out of the voices ,
the sound of the sword, the ravens fluttering and the close up
of Arya`s face with her eyes closing!
03. Robert/Cersei ‘Doesn`t make me feel anything’ (01x05 'The Wolf and the Lion')
Cersei : I felt something for you once you know
Robert : I know
Cersei : Was it ever possible for us? Ever a time ? Ever a moment?
Robert: (pauses) No.
Does that make you feel better or worse?
Cersei : Doesn`t make me feel anything.
Ah such an unexpected and beautiful scene!
The King telling his sad Queen he never loved her.
This was the only time we got to see Robert and Cersei one on one
and it really helped us sum up their failed relationship.
For a moment there you actually feel sorry for Cersei .
02. Summer saves Bran from the assassin (01x02 ‘The Kingsroad’)
“No one`s supposed to be here.”
God how awesome was this scene!?
Summer jumping up , ripping the assassin`s throat out and saving Bran`s life ! *shivers*
I`m loving the whole direwolf - stark children connection aspect of the story.
I`m still not sure but I feel this scene deserved to be #1 on my list IDK!
01.Bran wakes up from a coma 01x02 (01x02 ‘The Kingsroad’)
“The wolf is of the North. She deserves better than a butcher”
As I mentioned before I really like aspect of the story which talks about
the connection between the direwolves and the Stark children .
This scene was such a powerful one IMO!
The editing was great too with the death of the direwolf and Bran simultaneously opening his eyes...
Beautiful and poignant .
It was the best cliffhanger and the moment I realized I was in love with show :’)
