I thought it was good, but it will be awhile before I rewatch it because the ending is still too fresh in my head.
I watched 'Inception' the other night. You wil probably shot me for saying this, but after seeing it, I was glad he didn't get an Oscar director's nom. (I am also one of the few not impressed with TDK). I liked the movie, but he is as subtle as a jackhammer in his execution of ideas. (At least he reigned it in: This was subtle compared to TDK where every other scene was "POUND! POUND! Heroes and villians can be be morally GREY! ISN'T THAT SHOCKING?! POUND! POUND!" And, I'm just like "yawn. No, it isn't. Stop acting like you're the first terribly important director to come up with that gravitas.") I do believe I will watch it again because I liked the effects and the dream within a dream within a dream usage and want to catch the bits I missed out on while trying to keep along with the movie. However, he didn't impress me enough to make me think "oh, he was robbed!" But I do believe Ellen Page and Marion Cottard were criminally overlooked: they took 1-note roles and made them seem vivid. (Leo is just Leo to me. I like him as an actor, but regardless of who is directing him, I can never quite buy him as the character. He's just Leo playing the character.)
lol each one has their own opinion so there will be no shouting ;)
Ah I still find Inception inferior to TDK.......I`m a huge fan of Chris and his movies and Batman Begins and TDK have changed the way I look at batman forever . I loved inception from start to finish and I thought the direction was fantastic. Yes you could argue that the script had many flaws but I thought the execution was quite brilliant ;)
Yes Ellen Page was surprisingly good and I enjoyed her performance! Marion Cotillard actually stole the show with her heartbreaking yet terrifying performance ! Yeah Leo is Leo especially in these mainstream movies but in off-beat films like 'The Aviator' (which I think is still his best performance to date) and 'Revolutionary Road' I think he is more than just Leo ;)
I actually do like Nolan's Batman. It's TDK I think is overrated. But of the three, Inception is my favorite. The more I think about it, the more I like it. Batman has better pacing, acting, and action sequences, but Inception grabs me because, for all it's flaws, it can be interpretted so many ways--and even its flaws don't work against it (since dreams aren't perfect action sequences. Some are biazarro, overlong and weirdly paced).
I haven't really cared for Leo in either his mainstream or artsy films. I agree he slips into some roles better than others, but I just can't shake the feeling that he's Leo acting in the role. Oddly, while I'm not big on his acting, I love the films he chooses (always unique and interesting), so I end up seeing them anyway. He's just never the highlight of the film for me.

Well atleast Leo`s not as bad as Brad Pitt! lol. The only films where Brad really surprised me were Benjamin Button and Fight Club otherwise he always feels like Brad Pitt to me. Yeah Leo is doing an excellent job picking films these days I agree!
LOL! I'm not a Brad Pitt fan either. Well, at least where his acting is concerned. It's not so much that I think he plays himself but that he's soooo rated as the Pretty Boy that I can't think of him as anything else. Oddly, I liked him in "12 Monkeys," but that film is so crazy and his role is rather small that I didn't feel he stuck out. (I think he's overrated in real life as well, but I applaud him for putting his fame towards good causes. He really does seem to care about revitalizing New Orleans and bring attention to poverty and other issues. So I can forgive him for being Mr. Angelina Jolie.)
LOL! I'm not a Brad Pitt fan either. Well, at least where his acting is concerned. To be honest I`ve never even really been a fan of his looks lol . I mean he is a very very handsome man but well there are others too.....I just don`t see why his looks alone are given so much attention lol . Yes the 'pretty boy' syndrome overshadows his acting . ha ha I`ve heard alot about 12 monkeys but haven`t seen it yet . Must!
Yes his good causes have done his image good but I can never forgive him for becoming Mr Angelina Jolie! lol! I can`t stand that couple!
