Today it is an unbelievably beautiful day in Pennsylvania. Kinda muggy, but very bright, and very inviting.
i've been very busy for the past few weeks. training my replacement at work, and having about 1 million get-togethers and visits. The work thing has, quite honestly, been a huge drain on my life. There is nothing as depressing as watching somebody take your place amongst your friends and loved ones. And not that well, either.
Tomorrow I start the first day of my last week at work. Which is a huge relief. At this point I now know I'm going to get paid, but no one will reasonably expect me to give a damn about anything. Which I won't and really haven't for sometime. Pretending to care has been exhausting. I've been caught up in the most exhausting office politics for months, and finally, finally an end is in sight.
As for the get-togethers and visits, they have been truly awesome. My employees threw a surprise party for me, which was really lovely and quite touching. And was accompanied by nice gifts. Last week I had another night of alcoholic bliss with a bunch of my friends, sending me off with style. This week I'll have dinner with friends, and a bunch of us are going to break in Susan's new Apartment with some Lager and 79 cent burritos. Not to mention the last visit from my big brother before I go.
All the celebrating and goodbying, is very lovely, and exceedingly fun. But also highly exhausting. I have so much to do in the way of really getting ready to go, it makes my head spin.
I'm feeling very good about my trip to Seattle. I'm really looking forward to the temporary break from my settled life, and the permanent break from the things I'm stuck with. And of course finally getting to spend some time with Wade.
I fly out 1 week from today, Though I love everyone (and everything) I have here, and I know I'll really miss the hell out of em... I'm so very ready for it to be the day after I get there.
I'm a very lucky girl in so many ways... I'll have to make a list.
