IN-DEPTH PROFILE
→ GENERAL.
GENDER: Male.
AGE: Specific age remains unknown, though he's stated to be younger than Haine. If speculated, he's probably around the age of 18 to 19-years-old.
SPECIES: Genetically-altered human being.
SEXUALITY: Unknown. Seems to be asexual, though he's mostly just a bit of an opportunist. He takes what he wants, when he wants, and he rarely pauses to consider gender or consequence.
APPEARANCE: Though he's not exactly textbook attractive, there is something strangely appealing about Giovanni's overall appearance. He is always clean-cut, nearly immaculate, with well-pressed suits that mold to every contour of his body. He is tall and appears to have somewhat of a delicate bone structure, as he doesn't have much weight on him, though his body is riddled with toned muscle that hides just beneath the surface of his flesh. He has blond hair that is cut into a perfect bowl shape, is fair-skinned, and the color of his eyes is something that remains unknown, as he constantly has a pair of goggles covering them. Overall, his features are very sharp and precise, almost as if they were chiseled from solid stone.
THEME SONG: "The Ransom," by Escape the Fate.
→ BACKGROUND.
PERSONALITY: Inherently selfish, Giovanni hides his worry for his own personal self under a well-crafted disguise that leaks of violence and sadism. He is clever, ridiculously manipulative, and he rarely cares at all for anything around him, other than the one he refers to as "Mother" and for, of course, his brother, Haine Rammsteiner. Like most other people, Giovanni is a man that consists of many layers. The first layer is, predictably, the most prominent and typically overwhelms all the other aspects of his personality: Giovanni is entirely fueled by his need to break Haine, to rein Haine in, and to ultimately return him home to Mother.
He is seemingly solely dominated by his obsession with his older brother, and it is an obsession that really knows no bounds. When it comes down to it, Haine is the first person he thinks of when he wakes up in the morning, and he is the last person he thinks of before he heads to bed at night. If asked why he did what he did, he would most likely claim that it is because he "loves" him. However, this is probably not entirely true. Rather, it is an infatuation that he mistakes as love, just as his infatuation with his "mother" is something that he also mistakes as love.
Though he's extremely dangerous, Giovanni doesn't really pose much of a threat to anyone other than Haine. This is due to the fact that he believes that Haine is the only person worthy of his attention, and because of this, he dedicates 100% of his focus on him whenever he is around. Though he's not necessarily protective over him, he does carry some sort of off-centered possessive behavior that causes him to lash out at anyone that he thinks might hurt Haine or that might attempt to take Haine away from him.
In some way, Giovanni honestly believes that there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. He has a very unstable moral code, and though he may understand the definitions of right and wrong, it doesn't exactly mean that he personally believes that they're actually correct or that they actually need to be followed. He sees nothing wrong with using violence to get what he wants, and he is not one to stumble over terms like "good" or "evil." They are absolutely meaningless to him, and he does not consider himself to be an evil person, nor is he one to point fingers at anyone that he might believe to be a villain. Part of him honestly believes that he is doing what he needs to be doing, and that because it is his duty, no explanation or any sort of validation is needed to clarify his actions.
Giovanni is never seen without a smile on his face, unless something is said or done to temporarily stun him from his normally upbeat and cheerful disposition. Though he's always smiling, it is a smile that fails to warm his face or eyes, and it is the sort of smile that is entirely unsettling and that never fails to get under the skin of the people who happen to witness it.
HISTORY: Not much is known about Giovanni's early history, unfortunately enough. All that is really certain is that at a relatively young age, he was taken from wherever it was he lived previously to an underground facility where he would be implanted into a program known solely as DOGS. Quiet and withdrawn, Giovanni wouldn't stand a chance against Haine and the accomplishments he would later earn for the facility. Though he was altered physically into something much like Heine was, he wasn't considered a "success," was deemed something of a failure, and this tag would stick through him his entire life.
He would also play victim to Haine's Cerberus when the other rampaged the facility, tearing apart everything in his way. Giovanni was gravely injured in the brutal attack, but he would later recover and dedicate the rest of his life to "Mother" and to tracking down Haine. Sadly, however, the quiet and withdrawn boy that existed within the underground facility died when Heine tore through him. Instead, left in its wake, was a Giovanni with an unhealthy obsession and with a taste for cheerful insanity. The failed experiment was damaged further, and the fragments of his old life were long since gone.
Years later, Giovanni would consistently track Haine and appear randomly wherever the other happened to be. He would taunt him with memories of his dead sister, Lily, in an attempt to draw the dog within him out. This would continue until Haine and Giovanni both came together for a violent fight that eventually led to Haine running him through with his gun and tossing him off the side of a building. Giovanni blacks out, and when he awakens, he's in an unfamiliar and chaotic place that he's never seen before.
ABILITIES: As a recruit for the DOGS project, Giovanni's abilities closely match Haine's own. He is incredibly strong, ridiculously quick, and he heals with an amazing speed that allows him to take almost any sort of flesh wound without consequence. He is also extremely handy with particular weapons, especially firearms, and he seems to understand where to hit and where it hurts and where he needs to wound somebody in order to take them down. Earlier in his life, Giovanni also obtained psychic powers that allowed him to somewhat control and dictate the minds of his targets. His eyesight was the price for this power, unfortunately, and the glasses on his face is where the psychic powers are harbored.
Aside from his physical strength and other attributes, Giovanni is also a master at tearing down the walls that other people put up, especially when it comes to Heine. He is manipulative to the absolute core, and he takes great pleasure out of making other people squirm. His cheerful disposition is rarely ever brought down by anything around him, and he always seems to know what to say to get under another person's skin.
WEAKNESSES: One of Giovanni's main aspects to his personality is actually one of his biggest downfalls: he's very, very selfish. Though he may seem devoted to a cause that is not entirely revealed in canon, this isn't exactly true. He hunts Haine down not only to drag him back to "Mother," but to satisfy his own personal desires. To some extent, maybe he really does care about Haine, but the emotion he feels for him is definitely not love, despite what he may say otherwise. Giovanni is a lot like a clever, manipulative child; he draws emotions and feelings out of people for his own entertainment, and he does exactly the same thing to Haine. Of course, children are brought down easily. and Giovanni doesn't take well to hearing any sort of negative comment that has to do with him personally.
His second biggest weakness is also another main aspect to his personality. His obsession with Heine is something that rules his every waking thought and action. He can't get around it, he can't get over it, and part of him doesn't even realize that he's pursuing Heine with an off-centered sort of determination that ultimately drives him just a little bit crazy. This obsession is also a weakness in and of itself, as it is an obsession that is guarded by a fierce jealousy over Heine and his accomplishments. Though he is loyal to "Mother," he is also not her favorite; Heine is. This small fact is something that tends to destroy him, and because of it, he only works harder and harder to bring Heine back to her.
Giovanni is also technically blind, though the glasses he wears allows him to see as if nothing were any different. Without them, though, he would not be able to see anything around him.
