I'm just updating out of boredom. Perhaps I should be doing something better like reading a wonderful novel to broaden mind. :\
Anyway, I was at the community called "onnotheydidnt" and I came across this article with pictures.
Airbrushed? I think so. )

I absolutely agree with you. There are many standards of beauty we are expected to conform to.
In the West, you're meant to be tanned, blonde, caucasian and have blue blue eyes, a tiny little nose, unnaturally huge breasts and legs that stretch on forevAr.
In Thailand, you are supposed to be beautifully pale, slim, average-tall in height, perfect and smooth black hair, almond shaped black eyes and be very sweet and meek. Oh, and don't forget; if you are EurAsian in descent, then you get extra points for that, even though heritage doesn't matter at all, and nobody should be inferior/superior because of it [but for the sake of physical beauty, this is ignored... genetics mainly affects physical appearance, and, well... here it is].

to get this perfection, women in the west damage their skin in sunbeds and suntanning, and women in the east damage their skin by bleaching it to the right level of pale.
In both cultures, self-esteem is destroyed and battered down. You can't possibly be happy with your body! That's... unnatural. You MUST be like this! You MUST be like that!

Celebrities, models... they are abnormally beautiful and regular in their facial features, and usually have the same figures. Rail thin, perfect skin, bleached white teeth and flamboyant lifestyles. Make love to the camera. Strut your stuff, 'cause everything looks good on you.

And it's what we are supposed to strive for in physical perfection.

Artificial beauty vs. natural beauty

Who's going to win? I know which side I am rooting for.
