Fic List 2008

Jan 02, 2009 23:43

Wasting time? Me? Bah! Falsehoods! Wow, I...wrote a lot in 2008. And some of it actually pretty good. Dayum. Maybe it wasn't such a bad year after all.

In mostly reverse chronological order, so...quality will probably decrease a bit as you work your way down ;)

HEROES

Plaude

Reasons Unknown
Rating: Part 1 (NC17), Part 2 (PG13), Part 3 (PG13), Part 4 (PG13), Part 5 (R), Part 6 (PG13)
Summary: Peter meets Claude back when he was still with the Company, and an odd little relationship ensues, as it will. This all started as a way for me to write limo!sex (which is basically the first part), and pretty much grew from there. So there's that. I'd call it AU, mostly, but it could be said to dovetail into canon in the end; it wouldn't be the weirdest bit of retcon ever done by Heroes. Special thanks to c_quinn, who I believe gave me the idea in the first place.
A/N: One of my favorite things I've ever written, I won't lie.

Equilibrium
Rating: PG13
Summary: Claude is up late, and Peter would much rather this was not the case.
A/N: A bit of randomness, really: Claude and Peter being vaguely cuddly, in some odd AU happy future, where they're allowed to do that. Fairly pointless, although, admittedly, it was going to be part of something else that I decided against. How's that for vague?

Do, Or Do Not
Rating: R-ish (or at least as R-ish as five sentences can be).
Summary: Alley sex, for c_quinn
A/N: One of the (several) five sentence fics to make much use of semi-colons and independent clauses.

The Subject is Generally Aversive to Violence and Human Contact
Rating: PG
Summary: Same as the title; for guanin
A/N: One of the (several) five sentence fics to make much use of semi-colons and independent clauses; based on the discovery of Claude's profile on chemistry.com the Primatech Assignment Tracker.

From One Misanthropic Cynic To the Another, And You're The Only One Who Changes
Rating: PG
Summary: "I want Peter and Claude..Discussing books..." for trippypeas
A/N: Ah, references to Catcher in the Rye and Doctor Who. Lovely.

Every Plan A Tiny Prayer
Rating: R
Summary: Established relationship, on-call room sex. Why? Because I've clearly been watching too much Grey's Anatomy, that's why. No more!
A/N: Yet another vague, happy impossible future fic. *sigh*

Ars gratia artis
Rating: PG13
Summary: Peter is awakened from a nap in a non-traditional way.
A/N: Part of the longer AU massive fic of massiveness that I will one day finish! No really! Totally will do that!

A Good Excuse (Preview)
Rating: PG13
Summary: Consider this a little leaked scene/preview for A Good Excuse, which will be multichaptered and finished eventually, and which features Claude as a painter, Peter as a nurse, Simone as sympathetic (*gasp* I know!), and a whole variety of other Heroes characters in non-powered roles.
A/N: The first preview snippet for said AU massive fic of massiveness.

Home
Rating: R
Summary: Vague, dialogueless PWP; mostly just a writing experiment kind of thing, really, to capture the atmosphere of the scene. In theory.
A/N: Smut + my attempts at overly simplified metaphors and some...sort of style? How could you refuse?!

Recollection
Rating: PG13
Summary: Claude's relationship history, as I imagine it.
A/N: This is what I do with my time instead of finishing the smut I started. Or outlining for my paper. Or anything productive. *sigh*

Across the Universe
Rating: R
Summary: Plaude in spaaace. Basically. Why? I have no real idea, beyond this picture ;). There is absolutely no plot explanation to be had here, at all. It's space PWP; I guess we'll all just have to accept that. Unless of course you want me to go into what my original plot for the events leading up to this are, in which case...ask me, I guess? Spoiler alert: Firefly crossover!
A/N: For the "future!AU zippers" prompt on the kink meme, although I didn't finish it soon enough to post it there and it got too long for comment porn anyway. And...gosh, is this...silly and random and smutty and just...odd.

Summertime
Rating: R
Summary: Fairly PWP-ish, established relationship smut that takes place, in my mind, way past season 2 (not that that really matters), after Claude returns and they all live happily ever after. Yes, this is total fluffy wish-fulfillment smut.
A/N: Again, all about the atmosphere. Also about fulfilling a rounds_of_kink quicky challenge, about summer heat, I think it was.

And The Cloak, Really, Would Be Superfluous
Rating: PG
Summary: Claude reads a bedtime story. Everyone dies of the schmoopiness.
A/N: Encouraged by trippypeas, found adorable by me.

Catching Up
Rating: PG
Summary: First season, pre-slash, run of the mill conversation on the street. OR IS IT?!? No, it basically is just that. Sorry.
A/N: Written for rounds_of_kink but not nearly kinky enough.

Slowing Down
Rating: PG13
Summary: First season, pre-slash, run of the mill conversation in an alley. OR IS IT?!? Yes, it might be something actually beyond talking! Rejoice!
A/N: The actual fic posted for rounds_of_kink and not especially kinky, actually, but...yeah.

Sick Day
Rating: PG13
Summary: Peter gets a little break from training.
A/N: Ah, another thing with an unsatisfying ending! *sigh*

The Heroes Bride
Rating: Varying from part to part.
Summary: My version of The Princess Bride, with assorted Heroes characters, centering on Plaude...
A/N: Yes, this is the fic of my great shame, in that it...has not been finished. It will be. I swear it!

Turnaround
Rating: R
Summary: Unrepentant PWP that is nonetheless...repentant. Also, my attempt to write sex that's a bit rougher than I usually write, so...you be the judge.
A/N: Probably the first in the line of more explicit things I wrote, but most certainly not the last. This is actually a complete and total lie.

Loathing
Rating: PG
Summary: Peter does not find Claude to be an especially pleasant person. We are all shocked.
A/N: A double drabble! Woo!

His Invisibility/His Empathy
Rating: PG, PG13
Summary: Scrubs/Heroes crossover.
A/N: I am really quite fond of this, I have to say.

The Benefits of Unemployment
Rating: NC17
Summary: Allegedly, a fluffy, happy bit of domestic PWP, but since it's me: Peter's got somewhere to be at 9 am, and he's probably not going to get there on time.
A/N: Now this, I think, is the first really explicit bit of smut I wrote. I'm pretty sure. Also, Plaude Meets 24, what with the time device.

The Ties That Bind
Rating: PG13-y.
Summary: Oh, just...domestic fluffiness. As mentioned. Prelude to tie!porn never written.
A/N: Heh, written right after "Rebellion" (Reaper!) aired, if I remember correctly, to alleviate c_quinn and my episode induced depression.

Downpour
Rating: R
Summary: Something short, plotless, somewhat depressing and, basically smut without actual smut, as it turns out, but...I had to start somewhere.
A/N: Right about the turning point when I started to get comfortable enough to really write smut, I think. Depressing and ambiguous as heck, as Plaude should be.

Rules and Regulations
Rating: R
Summary: Yet another bit of smut; Peter, Claude, first season original recipe.
A/N: Never got around to posting this to peterandclaude, I suppose because I didn't think it good enough or especially original.

Other

Fading In
Rating: Varies between PG and PG13 but goes no higher.
Summary: A series of vignettes explaining how and why Claude ended up where he ended up in the the Graphic Novels Sum Quod Sum (Part 1 and Part 2). They are grouped into eight parts overall, and run concurrent to the end of S1, all of S2, and the beginning of S3, so, spoilers. The character of Sarah is entirely invented but totally played by Catherine Tate in my mind.
A/N: My other favorite fic series of the year, and the sequel is in planning stages. Of awesome.

Burst
Rating: PG
Summary: One-sided Elle/Claude puppy love for cybercribbles.
A/N: One of the five-sentence fics.

Jolt
Rating: PG
Summary: Matt/Daphne, off the prompt "caffeine" for indyhat.
A/N: Another of the five-sentence fics.

Premium
Rating: PG
Summary: Adam does a good thing. No, really.
A/N: Ah, my attempts at Padam fluff. There's a reason it's not exactly a popular theme.

Gyges
Rating: PG
Summary: Adam gets philosophical with someone unexpected. (I hope unexpected).
A/N: Man, had I spent months wanting to use the Ring of Gyges story for something. I rather liked how this came out especially.

In Whose Arms You're Going to Be
Rating: PG13
Summary: Claude, Noah, Sandra, dancing, and a Company Christmas party.
A/N: I...really did not like how this turned out. At all.

The Perfect Ticket
Rating: PG13
Summary: Heroes/The Colbert Report crossover written for heroes_fest prompt 253b Democrat!Nathan/Character!Stephen.
A/N: Because I was feeling somewhat sympathetic towards him at the time, this features Democrat!Nathan looking pretty good. Now, I would not be quite so charitable.

Rating:
Summary:
A/N:

REAPER

Insanity is Relative
Rating: PG13
Summary: Response to a First Kiss Meme from, like, 3 billion years ago. Sam gets a little help, reaping wise ;)
A/N: Aww, Donna. I still do need that Donna icon.

In The (Immortal) Words of John Lennon
Rating: PG13
Summary: A kind of through-the-ages reflection thing. And I went and got all...mystical again. Written for tessykins's prompt, "The fall from grace", on rounds_of_kink.
A/N: This really could've gone so very wrong; in second person, a songfic, and all kinds of mystical but...I rather like it.

Perfect
Rating: PG13
Summary: Sam has a friendly, confidence building chat with his neighbors. Mystical things are mentioned.
A/N: Another tessykins prompt on rounds_of_kink, about the first angels to have sex.

When The Lord Closes A Door
Rating: PG13
Summary: Another one of my "Scenes I wish we'd seen on the show because then I wouldn't want to write them and they'd probably be better", this is a continuation of the fight in the circle room.
A/N: Aww, Steve/Tony. I don't know why they're my favorites, but they really, really are.

Act of Kindness
Rating: PG13
Summary: Steve takes Sam shopping, and Sam is uncomfortable.
A/N: Written for c_quinn originally, but I added some stuff to it before posting it.

Sympathy
Rating: PG13
Summary: Steve and Tony say goodbye to each other. Among other things.
A/N: Yes, I like my sappy and romantic Steve and Tony moments. They don't get enough, I feel.

It's All Right With Me
Rating: R
Summary: Steve/Sam hurt comfort fic.
A/N: Written for c_quinn.

Recruitment Officer
Rating: PG13
Summary: The Middleman/Reaper crossover, with bits of MM/Sam. Because.
A/N: My first bit of Middleman fic. So yay.

Brief Encounter
Rating: PG
Summary: Quick, meaningless moment of conversation between Peter and the Devil, in a hospital cafeteria. (Heroes/Reaper crossover)
A/N: Heh. Not my favorite of the crossovers, but still amusing. And Peter's just such an evil magnet it's not funny.

Infamous Threesome of Infamy
Rating: NC17
Summary: Steve/Sam/Tony. What else, really, do you need to know?
A/N: For c_quinn and still, to date, the only threesome I've written.

THE MIDDLEMAN

The Crustacean Conundrum Consequence
Rating: PG
Summary: Answering a five-sentence fic prompt from lotus0kid, who asked for: How about something with Noser and exotic problems? Either his take on what Wendy and her boss get up to, or encountering one of his own.
A/N: That is a terrible title...

When I Offer You Survival
Rating: PG
Summary: MM/Cecil, off the prompt "paperwork", for lotus0kid
A/N: Aww, those two. I wish I could write more about them.

Won't Change the World
Rating: PG
Summary: Wendy/Lacey, answering the request from lotus0kid for the first kiss meme.
A/N: Ah, my very first bit of femmeslash...

The Cross-Dimensional Character Collision
Rating: PG13
Summary: Crossovers galore!
A/N: Heh. Well. Another one of those brilliant, oh-so-exciting fics that I changed my mind about, ie, never finished the rest of. *sigh*

RANDOM FANDOMS (Totally the name of my new band, btw)

Stars Are To Be Seen (Not Just Believed In)
Fandom: 30 Rock
Rating: PG-13
Summary: CE visits 30 Rock... for englishmuffin2.
A/N: Written off a prompt on the five-sentence fic meme but significantly longer than that. Sequel also pending.

Shadows and the Light
Fandom: Revengers Tragedy
Rating: PG13
Summary: For nina_ds, who suggested, How about Vindici/Lussurioso "honour", because I am really readily equipped to try and capture 17th century speaking patterns as translated into 21st post-apocalyptic Liverpool. Just a little conversation between the two.
A/N: Oh how I wish this had come easier, because the potential awesome of being able to write Vindici/Lussorioso interaction...*sigh*

Trust is a Must
Fandom: Get Smart (2008)
Rating: PG13
Summary: I...am honestly not sure how much sense this is going to make, but let's just say...the night before the bomb goes off at C.O.N.T.R.O.L. and after Max gets told that he won't be made an agent, he and 23 spend some quality time together.
A/N: Written for lotus0kid. Eventually.

Waiting For Our Real Lives To Begin
Fandom: The West Wing/The Daily Show
Rating: PG13
Summary: Jon Stewart and Toby Ziegler meet in a bar. Moping ensues.
A/N: Written in response to a crossover meme for indyhat and I'm strangely fond of it, I must say. Maybe because I find both men in question adorable.

Into the Woods
Fandom: c_quinn's original fic.
Rating: R-ish.
Summary: Heh. 17 year olds with freckles make me feel like a pervy, pervy old lady.
A/N: F-locked for reasons of privacy and only really listed for the sake of completeness.
