CNN.com's current QuickVote is Do you agree with President Obama that Muslims have "the right to build a place of worship" near Ground Zero?
48 percent of current respondants say "No."
My question to those 48 percent-voiced with a mix of disgust and contempt-is "At exactly what distance from the site of the attack are the religious and property rights of Muslims restored? Exactly how far away does a Muslim have to be before his Constitutionally-protected rights are restored? What is the exact size of the zone in which Muslims are-based on their religion-denied their rights?" This isn't a rhetorical question. I really want to know how large the zone of suspension of Constitutional protections for Muslims is in the minds of these people. Also, are all rights for Muslims suspended? Or is it only property and religious rights? What about free speech? Do they at least get that?
