Election day in Korea

Dec 19, 2007 06:19

Today is election day in Korea. It's considered a "holiday". Interesting concept. Give the day off so you can vote! Hmmm. I wonder how the #'s at the polls in a Korean national election compare to the US's #'s and if that # is perhaps influenced by the off?

Or perhaps this "holiday" is like some holidays in the US ie. Flag Day where it's a holiday, but you really never get the day off?  Hmmm. I guess I should go on over to the Korean Herald to see what I can find out!

I will say that I"ve noticed that the campaign banners around are not what I'd typically expect from a person running for President. They look like ads for movie stars. Really, I need to get a picture of one before they are all gone. Better get that done, huh?
