I love Bright Eyes
I think that I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning could possibly be my favorite album ever. I've found songs on different albums that speak to me, but never an entire album. There are life-defining songs, but this is a life-defining album.
It's kind of disappointing though, because this is the kind of music I've been wnating to make, and now I can't do it because it's already been done. My acoustic music that I've been writing just seems so Bright Eyes -esque. I've always tried to emulate Cobain, Lennon, and Plant as far as lyrics go and yet it turns out that they're more like second-rate Bright Eyes lyrics than anything else.
But this album does give me hope that maybe if I can get my songs properly recorded, they'll sound as good as Bright Eyes.
