Random: Sunday Edition
1. This week I have learned more information about three disparate artists: comedian/writer/actor Paul Mooney; photographer William Eggleston; and recently deceased experimental composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. A portion from the latter's 1972 lecture at Oxford on sounds is available on YouTube. Check it out.
2. There is a strange music in the sounds of a rumbling water heater, a tumbling dryer, a ticking floor heater, a streaming shower and a snoring man.
3. I do not like the connotations of the word "belated." I also do not like Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride."
4. I do, however, like other people's birthdays, layers of apricot mousse in carrot cake, and getting drunk on Bohemian Highway Cabernet Sauvignon while trying to keep up with karaoke vocals in the video game Rock Band.
