After gazing intently upon its cover every time I cashed out at the supermarket, I finally caved last night and bought it... TIME's 2007 Person of the Year: Vladimir Putin
Overall, the issue has proven to be a very thorough, engaging read. But good GOD, look at that face. It's so stony and leonine. Yeesh.
In other Russia & reading-related news, I discovered The Bolshevik Tradition: Lenin, Stalin, Krushchev nestled among the treasures at Bird Song Used Books. Drooled a bit, but couldn't buy it; looked too much like Cold War-era propaganda masquerading as a "historical" text.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to bed for some more contemporary Russia.
