Hello friends of Sol Arts!
We have an important announcement for our loyal patrons and friends. We are excited (and wistful) to announce that we will be closing our performance space at 712 Central SE at the end of December. After three and a half years..., the members of Sol Arts have decided to focus on our original purpose - artistic creation - and to take a one year sabbatical from the daily operations and maintenance of an arts center.

Plans are in full swing for our 2008 season - in which we will lease space from the plethora of venues now available in Albuquerque - and include new work from the recently created Sol Artists ensemble, and the long-awaited premiere of VIXIN by Sol Arts founder and UNM Theatre professor Kristen Loree.

Sol Arts is already making plans for the opening of a new arts space in late 2008/early 2009, but in the meantime we need to streamline our inventory. Towards that purpose, we will be holding a giant Moving Sale on Saturday, December 22nd at 11 am. We will be selling furniture, props, costumes, art and electronics. Whatever doesn't sell will be donated to charity and to other non-profit theatres in town.
Also, don't forget we have one more show still happening at the Sol Arts performance space - "Boy Gets Girl" by Rebecca Gilman, directed by Kathryn Gourley (details below.) It is a great show, and runs until December 16th! Please take this opportunity to come down and see one last production in our soon-to-be former home!

Sincerely,
Laira Morgan
