Observe & Greyscale Exercise
It's my first greyscale studies with SAI^^
and because this is also for OBSERVATION exercise, so...
1st step ; Find any picture for reference!
I choose a freaking sexy Alien^^
2nd step; Draw basic shape and form.
Forms and shapes can be thought of as positive or negative. In a two dimensional composition, the objects constitute the positive forms, while the background is the negative space.
It's one of the best way to get the right proportion!
3rd step; Still using the positive and negative to create form and shape!
4th step; detailing.
5th step; finalize

ADD FLAT COLORS in new layer! Noted that Genzo used 'Multiply' and change the opacity around 60% to 70% in his tutorial but mine, I used 'Soft light' layer!
