This past Thursday (June 4th), I saw my cousin (Andy) and my sister graduate. That morning, I had a final in my Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Rehabilitation class, so I rocked it in 30 minutes, then Josh and I packed up the rest of our stuff and went to the Greyhound station in Fort Worth, where we met up with my aunt and uncle who drove us down to Austin. We made it to my cousin's graduation right in the nick of time. He had a graduating class of about 300, so it was a long ceremony, but it was nice. Afterwards, my cousin got lost in the Erwin Center and couldn't find us for about 40 minutes. We rushed to a local tex-mex joint to eat, but since my sister's was about to start, we packed up our food as soon as it hit the table. Then we jetted to her school and thinking that the ceremony would be quick because there were only 50 graduates, we left our food in the car. It was a nice ceremony, but it was in Deaf time so two hours and thirty minutes later, the ceremony was finally over. Other than it being really long, I really liked the attention the paid to each graduate, the valedictorian's and salutatorian's speeches put the keynote speaker's to shame, and the songs they presented were beautiful. Afterwards, my mom, my brother, my sister, Josh, and I went to Baby A's to have a late celebratory dinner which was extra-tasty since Josh and I were so hungry. Then we (Josh and I) went to 'Buela's where we spent the night. We woke up early, ate, and then 'Buela took us to the Greyhound Station in Austin. We purchased our tickets and got on the bus.
The first bus took us to Waco, was dirty, but not very full. We had a layover in Waco of about an hour, in which we ate lunch which 'Buela had packed for us. The second bus was almost completely full, cleaner, but full of crazies. There were about 4 women that had just be put on parole or gotten released from prison. There was also a guy from France going to California for the first time, and all the people around him were telling him to beware of this, beware of that, and I think all in all just pulling the guy's chain. But the best of all, was the woman that sat in front of us. She approached the guy (also in front of us, henceforth known as Tattoo) and said, "Hey tattooed mother fucker, I'm going to sit by you!" The expression on his face was priceless, he was no small guy by any means and looked like he could have broken her in two. She must have been on several drugs, she smelled of something I will never be able to put my finger on, and physically... well... she could have looked better. She then precedes to try to CUDDLE with this guy. She kept waking up as if startled. Finally Tattoo asked her, "You're that tired, huh?" She replied with,"What? Tied? Am I tied? Yeah, I'm fuckin' tired, haven't slept in three days, I can't wait to go home and take all those little pills that help me go to sleep..." After that, Tattoo was pretty much pressed up as much against the window as he could be. She tossed and turned like crazy and at one point woke up long enough to say to Tattoo, "You're a handsome motherfucker though," before collasping into a heap and gripping his shoulder. Intermittently, we silently bonded through his WTF looks, and our "I'm-sorry-you-got-stuck-with-a-crazy-bitch" eyes. Finally, thirty minutes before we made it for Forth Worth, as politely as he could, asked this elderly black woman if he could please sit next to her. She replied with,"Don't bother me none child," in a way that seemed to soothe everyone. Josh and I got off the bus, unharmed and relieved and got in the truck. We stopped by Braum's and scarfed down some much needed milkshakes and finally made it back to Denton. We went into his room and slept forever, it was wonderful.
Doc Update:
I went to see the rheumatologist today. They took more blood and are running more tests. At this point, they are trying to rule out what it is to find out what it is. Either way, I'm not thrilled. :(
Also, I've lost a friend, and that makes me sad...
