Well.. since my mum is one of those -"Internet ?.. that's just a hype, it'll pass in a few years"-kindah woman I can't really ask her about this stuff. Actually, she bought a laptop a few weeks ago, and boy am I glad I'm the mac-user son. Everytime she asks something retarded I just go "Well, I'm so so so sorry, but I use Mac, so I can't help you with 'how to save a document in Word', you better ask Alex".. and Alex is the PC-user son, something he will regret every time we visit mum's place I'm sure :)
Hmm.. maybe that's how Apple got so big all of a sudden. Nice design, sure. But I think they just handed out free PC's to old people and light-shy parents and thus driving their children to use macs.. or making a fuzz with some highschool shootings.
Anyways. I can't really ask my mum since she's computer illiterate and can't get on the web. And the little gamers book I gave her, well, I think she read 10 pages and then put it down .. which I'm fine with, since there's some jokes in the book that would make her choke. There's another idea. We should start with labeling games with parental guidelines.. like "PG 18+".. only called "PG -45".. the youth of today are responsible enough, or so FUBAR that it doesn't matter, so they don't really need any PG-locks. The only people that gets offended and are having issues with games and such are older people who're stuck in some middleaged way of thingking-standars, so that's where we should have the PG ratings.
It actually works on the PG 13 too. Call it PG -13, cuz lets face it, if you're older than 13, you shouldn't be playing those games anyways, stick to the "rip you fucking face of and skullfuck you into tomorrow"-games.
Our next book will be marked "PG -45" and "PG -Dumbass".. of course, there's still some "older people" that are allowed to get it tho, like brad's mum and naku's mum and cool people like that.
